Great Barn Find Restoration Project!
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description
Up for auction is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Hardtop project car whose restoration is already underway! I came in possession of this car over 15 years ago which was left abandoned in Tennessee and decided to rescue it from the crusher. Due to time constraints and work responsibilities, I have decided to find a new home for this classic Chevy to anyone who can complete the restoration. In the last couple of years I have installed new floor pans, new tie rod ends, new steering system, new fuel lines, new front end suspension, and new dual exhausts. I have TWO 283 engines that are included in the auction and one which is the correct series for this particular car as the original factory installed engine had a cracked block and was non repairable. The correct engine has been rebuilt but has never been primed or started. The pictures pretty much tell the story as I have done some preliminary work on the car but as you can see there is a lot left to do! If you have ever wanted to build a 57 Bel Air Street Rod or Custom Ride then this car is the perfect candidate. You can convert it to the custom ride of your choice without having any fears of ruining the car's originality. It has already been taken down to a bare bones starting point. The car also has the original 2 speed transmission ready to reinstall and an extra one as a spare. As far as I know, I have every part needed to put the car back together with the exception of the windshield and much of the door glass needs replacing. Some of the chrome parts and pieces I have are extremely difficult to find and if sold separately would probably amount to several thousand dollars. I am hoping though the new owner will have interest in saving the car and getting it on the road again! I will help with boxing up all of the parts that go with car and loading the car on a trailer if you choose that route. I will also throw in some parts from a discarded 4 door Bel Air to help with your project. I am sure you have many questions about the car so I would suggest you give me call at 757-869-8974 and ask for RON or RUTH. If I don't immediately answer leave a message and I will get back to you very shortly. All interested persons are welcome to see the car in person at my home in Newport News Virginia at your earliest convenience. I do have a clear Virginia title for the car. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
