1972 Chevrolet C-10 Truck Description
This is a SUPER nice 1972 Chevy Fleetside Shortbed 4x4 truck. I built the truck from a bare frame about 7-8 years ago. Every piece of sheetmetal was prepped and painted Viper Racing Yellow. Its got SO much done to it I cannot list it all but Ill hit all the main points. Its got a 2000 Corvette LS1 that had about 5 HUNDRED miles on it. LS6 intake manifold, custom cold air intake, Doug Thorley Tri-Y Long tube Headers, and an EFI Live custom tune. Coffin Mufflers with a cross over piper thats removeable. Puts out about 475-500HP. Tranny is a custom built 4L65E used in heavy 1/2 ton applications like denalis, hummers, and Escalades. Its got bigger better sun gears, extra clutch packs(Kevlar ceramic if I remember), Shift kit, ect. Built to tow and be able to hot rod if need be. Ive towed 2 Duramax diesels on a 4000lb trailer w no issues, and SEVERAL other vehichles with this truck. Its got an Eaton conical Posi in the rear with custom 3:42 gears, Dutchman 31 or 35 spline custom axles, Ford Explorer Disc brakes, and a custom HD finned aluminum diff cover on a Chevy 12 Bolt rearend. Front diff is a Dana 44, all rebuilt also w same custom 3:42 gears of course, and a Dana Trac Loc posi in front! So this truck is a TRUE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE! Transfer case is the good 205. Custom drive shafts, Large Diameter in rear, and front and rear u joints have billet U joint girdles. Lift is a 4" with Rancho softrides up front, and Shackle flip hangers in the rear so its got no blocks! All steel braided brake lines front and rear. Dual Rancho Adjustable shocks all the way around, and Dual Rancho steering stabilizer shocks. Also has a 2 wheel drive steering box, with a High Steer conversion!! New hubs also. Weld 15x12 rims!! With 33-12.50 tires. Trucks also got a new Vintaige Air A/C system that blows NICE AND COLD!! Etropy custom radiator with dual fans/controller and shroud so it NEVER EVER gets hot even on the hottest day with the A/C blowin and sittin in traffic or just idling!! Has a polished stainless aftermarket tilt column, Tach dash, and a nice CD player with Zapco amps and 6x9's in the doors with 2 8's under each side of the seats, sounds great!! Interior was all custom done in grey, with grey carpet. Door rubbers were replaced about a year ago cause the ones I built it with just started ripping. Ive also replaced the carpet a second time just due to looking dirty after a few years. Everything works on it, runs amazing. Shifts awesome and will bark the tires in 2nd if you wind it up hard but I dont do that, it mainly just gives you a nice firm "gripping" shift were you feel the tires just bite. It was built rite and is an awesome truck. Im just going in a diff direction w another project and need to finish it. I LOVE my truck it gets a minimum of 2-3 compliments everyday I drive it STILL. And people always ask is it a 72!! is it for sale!? Also has a Line Ex bedliner, and I built a custom brace in the front bed panel so that when you haul things or dirtbikes, it cant bend that panel like you always see em do. Tailgate is an original GM thats super straight and nice. I built the bed out of 2 bedsides of another truck, the floor off another truck and tailgate off another truck, front panel was bought new and is an aftermarket piece. Also has an adjustable proportioning valve for the 4 wheel disc brake system, with a chrome corvette disc/disc master cylinder and stock booster. Its got a few nicks here and there, and ya know the frames got some spots that could be touched up and really it just needs a good buffing and detailing to look top top notch again. But dont get me wrong its an absolutely BEAUTIFUL truck. Im sure theres plenty Im not listing, but those are the big ticket items. Trucks got about 44K miles on it since built and odometer reads actual mileage since built so thats nice. It originally had a fuel injected 383, w a 700R4 trans that I just never loved, and when I had the chance to do the LS conversion I jumped on it. The LS1 has about 10,000 miles on it that I put on it, so the other 34,000 miles are what was on the 383. Ive got an LS6 in my other vehichle and I just love em, you CANNOT beat the performance, reliability, comfort, GAS MILEAGE and HP they have!! Plus they are ALL aluminum and just bad ass!! It gets around 18-20mpg!!! AMAZING!! if you have questions please feel free to call, but PLEASE serious callers only, Im sure I will be SWAMPED with people interested in it and Im sure its gonna go REALLY FAST. If it were just built last month Id be asking 40,000 and id get it no problem. LS conversions with A/C and upgraded modern trannys like this are expensive to do in every way, parts and especially labor if you can even find a guy who can do it. The harness was custom built for me by Jesse Bubb at Wait4Me Performance in Illinois. ECM is a 98 vette which are the best to use in this sorta application. Its also got all steel braided lines and fittings for the fuel system and fuel pump/filter regulator which is mounted on the inside frame rail. Every detail was done RIGHT. Thanks for lookin!! 209-743-3100
On Aug-06-17 at 07:48:41 PDT, seller added the following information:something I wanted to add, the trucks sitting on an uneven surface but the bed sits absolutely flat and true to the truck on flat ground, it doesnt sidewind or have issues w how it tracks like alotta them do. Im going to put it up on my lift and put up some pics of the underside so you can see how clean the drive train is. I am also including a complete short block that I got and have incase it ever needed parts down the road. The shortblock has a small hole in one of the pistons, but I got it in some trading just cause the blocks good, cranks good, rods are good and the front/rear covers and reluctor ring and stuff are all good parts to have. the only leak its got is a tiny one on the output shaft of the transfer case which is just a matter of pulling the driveshaft and popping out the seal and popping in a new one. But its extremely minimal so I have never done it. Tranny, engine and diffs dont leak. Its also got yellow polyurethane body and suspension bushings threw out. All the ball joints and all that are all fresh and good. Rides n drives excellent and you couldnt build a truck like this bone stock for 30 grand. Now add in all the extras that its got and you get an idea what its really worth. Ive never cut and rubbed the paint, thats right out of the gun, so some little touch ups and a polish and it would look better than it did when I first sprayed it. Maybe some new shock boots n stickers and repaint the shocks white, touch up some spots on the frame and it would look tip top again. All the fender wells are undercoated and clean and nice, so theres no need for anything there. The frenzy has started so if your serious all I can say is step up before someone else does.
