1993 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Description

This 1993 Chevrolet 1500 pickup is probably best reserved for Dallas Cowboys fans. Fortunately, there are a lot of you out there, so if you'd like to get noticed in a truck that has a lot of charisma, this is a fun, affordable choice. The silver and blue paint job is original, so it's easy to see where they went with it sometime after 1993. The running boards and fender flares were popular accessories back then, so they were painted blue and some stripes were added, and soon enough it had a real theme going on. There's also a custom tonneau cover for the stepside bed offering a Cowboys star, which pretty much seals the deal. Cowboys fan, this is your truck. Fortunately, it's also in great shape for tailgating and people are going to remember how cool these trucks really were when you show up next season. The stepside bed gives the 1500 a sporting look that's more aggressive than the garden-variety C/K trucks and with an extended cab, the proportions are just about perfect. Big chrome bumpers look great, oversized mirrors are great for when you're actually using this truck as a truck, and a deep front air dam works with the running boards to make it look lowered even though it's stock. Nice, right? The interior isn't quite as specific, with handsome cloth buckets and lots of wood paneling to really dress things up. The upholstery is in great shape, showing very little wear despite being almost 25 years old. The big steering wheel has a leather-like look that's a bit upscale and the gauges cover all the important functions. If you were around when these trucks were new, you'll look fondly at the AM/FM/cassette stereo, which puts the radio in the center stack and the cassette player over there by the passenger... why, we can't say, but that's how Chevy did it. Heavy-duty floor mats mean you don't have to worry about getting things dirty and it's loaded with options like A/C, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering column. The extended cab offers a decent rear bench that's good for three-across seating, and it folds down to create some useful cargo space that's protected from the elements. That cool wood center console also offers a set of cup holders for the guys in back, a thoughtful touch!Chevy's bulletproof 5.7 liter TBI V8 provides reliable performance and remains easy to service and inexpensive to maintain. It's completely stock, from the air cleaner to the exhaust manifolds, and as a result, it runs like it should. It starts easily, idles well, and has enough power to make the truck feel energetic on the road. It's quite clean in the engine bay, showing off a lifetime in Texas (where else?) and plenty of maintenance over the years. The 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission's overdrive gear means it also delivers decent fuel economy on the highway and the heavy-duty suspension allows you to use this truck as a truck, which is how it should be. There's a stock exhaust system with newer catalytic converter and muffler, so it has a pleasant, muted V8 soundtrack, especially with twin pipes coming out the back. Factory alloys are in great shape with no major curb rash and they wear 235/75/15 off-road radials all around.Cowboy fan, here's your tailgate truck. Everyone else, well, it's a really nice truck and you could de-Cowboy it if that's not your thing. Either way, there's plenty of life left here, whether you're using it for fun or for work.
