1957 BelAir 2 Door Hardtop
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Original 283 Power Pack car Description
I have decided to sell my 1957 BelAir. I have owned this car since 1989. I first want to point out the car photos a lot better than the paint actually is. The paint has been on the car since 1988. It has always been stored in an enclosed building covered. In 1999, I was at a car show in the bright sun all day. The next day the paint had a texture to it. I took it to multiple body shops. Each shop told me the primer had "popped" from moisture. They say the type primer and paint used during that time was prone to this. It has not ever gotten worse. The paint looks worse under fluorescent lighting than in sun. I wanted to emphasize this so as not to mislead anyone. Every piece under the front end was completely rebuilt including all bushings. I replaced the rear end with a Ford 8.8" with disc brackes and 3.73 gears. I upgraded the front brakes to disc brakes as well (4 wheel disc with power brake booster). The interior is done in stock colors and is in excellent condition. I added a Classic Industries Am/Fm radio with USB reader. Looks very vintage but is digital when turned on. I also added lap seat belts. I retired the entire car front to rear and added a painless wiring harness kit with a late model style fuse box (square fuses). The engine is a 383 sbc with an eagle rotating assembly and Dart Iron Eagle heads, aluminum radiator, two fans on thermostat control, Holley 4 Barel carburetor (true double pumper), roller rockers, hydrolic cam (lopes very hard), polished coated headers, serpentine belt kit, full 14" K&N air filter, Flomaster mufflers, Turbo 350 Transmission, TCI Street Fighter torque converter. Park lights and tail lights are high visibility led lights. All interior lights including overhead, map lights, and dash lights work as they should. 215/50/r17 front tires and 245/45/r17 rear tires. Car is road worthy anywhere. Also included in the sale of this car is every original part I took off. This includes the original 283 with the original 4 barrel carburetor (motor is still all together, it ran great and did not smoke when I pulled it out), the original cast iron power glide transmission ( worked and shifted flawlessly when removed), original tires (big wide white walls), wheels, hub caps, complete rear end housing ( worked perfect when pulled),original radio (did not work), basically everything original I pulled off including manifolds and radiator. I have lots of my paperwork and receipts as well. I didn't throw away anything I just gotta put my hands on all the paperwork. The car is not perfect but it's rust free and an excellent weekend cruiser. You could easily convert it back to original again if you choose to. The only issue the car has is it needs a new paint job. I drive it in pretty weekend days. The only reason I am selling is to fund another project. I have the car for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction early. The original color of this car according to the vin plate is black with a black and grey two toned interior. I honestly don't remember what color red is on the car now but it's very bright. The car was originally a Power Pack car with a 3 speed manual transmission. It was converted to an automatic with the correct cast iron power glide transmission and automatic column in 1988. If you have any questions feel free to call or text me at 334-441-8164.
