THE SECOND OWNER WORKED FOR THE FORESTRY AND PURCHASED THE TRUCK FOR LIGHT DUTY SERVICES AROUND HIS PROPERTY AND THE REST OF THE TIME IT WAS PARKED IN A BARN. THIS TRUCK HAS SPENT ITS ENTIRE LIFE IN CALIFORNIA AND THE BODY IS SOLID WITH NO HIDDEN SURPRISES. THE BODY AND PAINT - The body on this truck is in over all goodcondition and the floor pans, kick panels are solid, they look good with light surface rust only. The bed and bed step sides are original to the truck and do not have any old repairs or any damage to them. The top of the bed rails and the stake pockets are in good original condition and are not beat up or damaged.The inside of the bed is not beat up or overly abused and the original wood bottom is due to be replaced, but the original bed rails are intact and are in good condition. Both of the doors are in good original condition and both of the doors are not rusty: just light surface rust only down low. Both front fenders are also original to the truck. I have checked the passenger side fender down low in-line with the battery andit shows no signs of rust: same with the driver's side, both look good. Both of the front fenders down low where they are usually rusty are nice and dry and they have never been repaired or tampered with. Both of the inner fender wells and the battery tray are original to the truck and they show no signs of damage or rust: they look good. The radiator support is also original andit shows no signs ofdamage or rust and will not need to be replaced. The outer rocker panels are original to the truck and they are in good condition with no signs of rust: they look good. The inner rockers look solid there are no signs of rust. The body braces are also in good condition and they show no signs of rust or repairs. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both outside and inside are rust free and are in good condition. The rain gutters are in good original condition: they show no sings of rot or rust. The top of the metal dash down by the windshield rubber is ingood condition and it shows no signs of water stains or rust: it looks good. The hood is in good condition and shows no signs of old repairs or damage. The hood hinges are in good condition and they are not sprung. The floor tunnel and the firewall are clean and rust free. Thistruck has all of its original GM panels andoverallthe body on this truckis clean for being original This truck was not overly abused during its life with the state of California. This is an original truck and it hassmall dings and scrapes throughout and some extra holes in the doors where there were added side mirrors, but this truck is overall straight and clean. The forestry green paint on this truck is all original except for an old repair on the passenger door and the real California patina on this truck is super cool.
THE INTERIOR- The inside of thistruckis ingood clean original condition. The originalfront seat is in good condition with no tears or snags in the seat cover. The original rubber floor mat is in good condition with no wear marks or holes. The original steering wheel is in good condition: there are no cracks in the wheel. The original instrument cluster is clean and in good working order. The paint on the door panels is in good original condition. The heater and blowercontrols are intact. The dash paint is ingood condition and overall the inside of thistruck is clean.
THE MOTOR- This truckis equipped with a stock V8 motor. Thistruck runs good and this motor is not a leaker or smoker. The motor is equipped with all the original GM factory accessories.
THE TRANS - The transis the original granny-low 4-speed manual transmission and it's in good working order. The original rear end is a nice tight rear end that does not clunk or howl. When you drop this truck into gear there is no universal joint clunks or noises.
THE OVERALL- This C10 short bed truckis a nice patina driver that was well taken care of and was not beat on or abused.This is a very original truck that still has its original windshield with the forestry stickers on the drivers side, black California plates, owner's manual and hubcaps. This is a hard truck to find in this condition. The front end components all look to be original and thetruck steers straight for being a 1960 Chevy truck. The tires were just replaced: they are new. The original steel rims and hubcaps are in good condition with light surface rust only. Thistruck is equipped with the original stock springs and this truck is stock height. The front windshield is original and the side glass is in good original condition but the rear window is cracked. The original electrical is in good working order and is in good condition but the fuel gauge is not working. The door rubbers and felts are original and are intact. The brakes are inworking order, but you will need to go through them just to be safe. The exhaust is older, but is not leaking. This truck runs and drives, but it had been parked for some time and will need light mechanical maintenance. The camper shell is not included in the sale of this auction, but could be negotiated after the sale of the truck. The bottom side of thistruck is not under-coated from the factory and it is clear to see that it is not a rotted-out mess. Thisis an affordable classic truck that is a hard one to findin this condition, and this is a nice clean truck to own.
