VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
The SBR Foundation is proud to have acquired this California native Apache thrua Northern California estate after the passing of its original owner; a true generational, black DMV plate, farm find that is now housed in Sacramento, CA. As cat wranglers, not car experts, this amazing California survivor with 65,510 miles appears to have the original in-line six engine that freely turns with 3 on the tree. We're told this project truck should be fully serviced before starting and restoring it back to stock. But you know that - too.
Or, take it to the high end, eye-catching resto-mod level by adding an LS3 engine, upgraded transmission on a new Art Morrison chassis & suspension, and complimented by body work, new tires and wheels, new paint and matching interior of your choice.

CHEVY C/K TRUCK HISTORY
The 1960 Apache short bed stepside pickup was an exemplar example of restrained elegance.
Although pickups came of age after World War II, they continued to evoke a postwar sensibility until Chevy introduced a groundbreaking generation of trucks in 1960. Not only were these C/K pickups - a designation that is still in unofficial use - equipped with the segment's first independent front suspension, but a new drop-center X-shaped frame reduced the height of the vehicle by up to seven inches. The lower stance was emphasized by an attractive, pinched-waist body and a front end featuring "jet pod" eyebrows over the grille. The 1960 Chevy pickups featured bold, straight body lines, a cab with slight overhangs over the windshield and rear windows, headlamp bezels and an egg-crate grille. The body was a lesson in minimalist styling, with only modest touches of chrome. These half-ton pickups were 206 inches long with a front track width of 63.1 inches and the rear track measuring 61 inches wide. The half-ton rode on 6.70-by-15-inch tires on 15-inch steel wheels. Its gross vehicle weight rating was 4,600 to 5,300 lbs.
