1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Post Rust Free Project
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air Description
This is a 1957 Chevy Bel Air 2 door post car. I've owned it for the last fifteen years and just don't have the time and money to finish it right. I know I don't have a lot of detailed pictures so please feel free to ask any questions or better yet come see the car in person if you can. The car spent it's entire life in Arizona until I bought it and shipped it to Pennsylvania. The last picture shows the car the day I got it. The first picture is how it looks now. It's all apart and the main body is on a rotisserie which is included in the sale. I have a taller set of casters that bolt onto the rotisserie so it can be easily loaded onto a rollback or trailer. The car was completely disassembled and the main body was media blasted inside and out and sprayed in white epoxy primer. The seventh picture shows the car after the blasting. The floors were replaced prior to blasting. After the blasting new quarter panels were installed and all rust holes were cut out and new sheet metal was welded in. I've added some pictures of this process. The frame is super solid and being an Arizona car it has zero rust. No pitting whatsoever. Original VIN stamp is still visible on top of the frame rail. The frame was blasted and painted with black epoxy primer. The fenders were also media blasted inside and out. The doors were and trunk lid were stripped by hand. As you can see in the pictures, this car is all metal, not filler. Right now the car is in pieces and will have to be put back together but all of the hard work has been done. Included with the car is a new GM Performance Parts 290 horsepower crate motor still in the original shipping crate. The car was originally a 6 cylinder 3 speed on the tree car. I don't have a transmission for it and the rear that comes with it is a 3.05 out of an eighties Camaro I believe (It's what came with the car when I got it). I don't have any wheels or tires to go with the car. The ones that came with it were junk and I trashed them. I have all new glass for the car (Windshield, back glass and all side windows). I have most of the outside trim pieces for the car including the hard to find Bel Air sedan window stainless trim. The lower quarter panel spears were bent during shipping and will need to be straightened or replaced. All the trim pieces that I do have are original to the car and should be cleaned and polished or replaced. I have both bumpers but again, they are original and need work. I don't have any of the pot metal pieces like the hood bar, grill bar, hood rockets, headlight bezels and tail lights. They were just too pitted and need to be replaced. As far as the interior, I don't have the front bench seat. I have a pair of bucket seats that I was going to put in it. I do have the original rear seat that was reupholstered in a diamond tuck pattern years ago. I have the door panels but they are pretty beat. I don't have a headliner or carpet. I have the original gauge pod with all gauges as well as the original clock. I don't have a radio or steering wheel. All of the inside metal trim around the windows is also included. Please ask any questions before bidding.
