The powertrain swap was done correctly, using a painless harness. The ecm mounts in the factory position on the passenger side lower dash area. All factory gauges work and were calibrated for the swap. Check engine light even works on the factory instrument cluster as it should.
The paint is in very good shape. I had the front hood stripes painted on, also the fenders nose and doors were painted. The rear quarters and rear deck lid have original paint. No rust, no dents. Z28 Front grille was installed. All the original 25th anniversary badges are on the car.
The interior of the car is original, the seats, and carpet. The driver’s side seat foam is starting to show its age. The inside of the car is still very presentable of a 23-year-old car. No dash cracks.
The car has gone 120 in the quarter. Motor put down 430hp/394tq with the 9-inch.
Full discloser/problems
Drivability is great with the motor, the transmission how ever started to be difficult to get into 4th gear this summer. All other gears shift fine, just forth seems not to like high rpm shifting. Also no heat or ac, heater just needs hoses ran to the heater core. I have not had heater on this car in the last 10 years, so it might no be a bad idea to replace the heater core. Even with the above, I feel this is one of the cleaner third-gen builds out there and has tons of money into aftermarket parts. Thanks
