Up for auction is my 1970 Chevelle SS project. First off let me start by saying i do NOT have the build sheet. Previous owner was selling it as an SS and it had everything that a SS should have. correct dash (not the one pictured, the old one was beat up & green so i purchased a new housing),hood, boxed control arms, rear sway bar, larger front sway bar, frame supports, 2 piece steering shaft etc. I purchased the car as a project. It was missing the motor, trans, drive shaft, rear seat and many other small items. the previous owner had gutted the inside and started repairing the floors and apparently the rear seat divider, then sort of gave up. The floors are very solid and look nice from the underside. Heavy looking welds on the inside but as i said, solid and nice underneath. i wasnt going to redo them since those ugly welds would be covered by sound deadening and carpet. The car was originally green on green. Since i have owned it here is what has been done over the past seven years:
frame off. frame was stripped and painted.
new body bushings.
new upper and lower control arm bushings.
new upper and lower ball joints
new center link, inner and outer tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, endlinks & idler arm
new calipers/pads, backing plates.caliper mounting brackets.
new gas tan, sending unit, and fuel lines.
new rear control arm bushings upper and lower
new springs front and rear
new shocks front and rear
new trans & motor mounts
Every brake line front to back. New proportion, hold off, and rear frame valves, hoses and complete e-brakes.
New booster with master cylinder. only part of the entire brake system not new are the front rotors and wheel bearings. I thought i had them but at the moment cant find them.
The motor is a completely rebuilt 1970 396 with 1971 454 heads. Except for the hooker headers, everything on the motor is new as well. intake, carb, distributor, water pump, fuel pump..
The motor has been run on a test stand only. Has ZERO miles on it.
The Th400 trans is also rebuilt with ZERO miles on it. torque converter new as well.
12 bolt posi was gone through and new 373 gears and rear brake components installed. drums, wheel cylinders, brake hardware and shoes,E-brake cables
Rebuilt door &hood hinges thanks to Willie at hood hinge repair. the doors, trunk and hood shut perfectly and effortlessly.
BODY.
New roof
New hood
New flapper door
New lower cowl panels
New passenger fender
New drivers side door
New radiator support and bushings
New inner fenders
New full rear quater panels(both sides)
New rear inner and outer wheel houses (both sides)

New trunk floor
New rear tail light panel

Only two panels That are not New are the drivers fender and passenger door.
They were picked up used, stripped down to metal and only had a small 2" spot in the corner of the door that needed rust repair. It was completely cut out and replaced with new metal.
The underside of the body was stripped and undercoated. not spray can stuff and not globbed on.
The grey parts of the body have gone through their first steps of body work, primer and first blocking. the black panels are pretty much untouched.the ONLY "metal work" needed is in the upper rear corners where the quarters meet the tail panel . no rust, just wasnt finished. you will see the pics with the small areas circled in red.
A lot of time & work has gone into getting the panel gaps and the panels aligned as you see them now.
Some of the parts:
New windshield still in the box. I have all the glass but the door glass is pitted and needs to be replaced.
New windshield trim
New wheel well trim
