1962 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside Pickup Description

Hello bidders!

This is my 1962 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside Pickup Truck. You are looking at running, driving, and complete vintage truck with very low miles. I found this beauty in a garage in Detroit two years ago. The gentlemen who sold it to me has had it garaged, and very well taken care of since he bought it in North Carolina in 1998. To his knowledge it had spent its entire life in N.C. up until then. This explains the low amount of rust the truck has on it. After two years of time spent deliberating on the purchase, I decided to buy it from him last March. Since then I have detailed the truck and made sure everything is working like it did new. Once started up this truck drives very nicely straight down the road, with all the electrical components working as well. Unfortunately, it needs a small amount of help to start initially. It needs a couple table spoons of gas poured into the carburetors and a fully charged battery to do so. This is most likely a simple battery issue or a choke/carburetor setting that needs to be adjusted, and it’s nothing more than you’d expect from this age of vehicle. It idles very nicely after this and has no issues driving from that point on. The transmission goes through all the gears very nicely, brakes are strong, and the engine pulls well.

Cosmetically the truck is very nice. The pictures I have included tell the story better than I can, but in summary this truck is in great condition with a light amount of rust and a couple small dents and scratches. For being considered a “survivor” and not having been restored in 55 years this thing is in great shape. The frame is sturdy and there isn’t much rust underneath the truck. The biggest issue is the rust spot behind the driver side rear tire. There is a hole there but surprisingly I found that the sheet metal has been bent in somehow, and is still connected. This in no way affects the structural integrity of the truck, I just wanted to give it recognition in this ad because it seems to be the worst area of rust on it. The interior is in what I would call fantastic shape. The bench seat looks almost new with only one small crack in it. All the dash components are there and working as they should, minus the tachometer which is currently not operating. The lights behind the gauges as well as the dome light work great. Headlights, high beams, wipers, blower, and ignition all function. The blinker switch seems to be loose and disconnected from the steering column so I cannot test the blinker lights themselves. However, the bulbs that are designed to blink in the back operate perfectly, along with the standard brake lights. They don’t get brighter when you touch the break though. Sometime during its life a late 90s-early 2000s era single din radio was installed, along with a pair of stereo speakers mounted behind the seat. This system functions as it should.

In conclusion this truck is a rare find that’s in great condition with low miles, that has been taken care of its entire life. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me anytime. Thanks so much for looking at my truck!

I am located in Southeast Michigan and if you would like it shipped to you we can arrange that. I will not be paying for this however.
