1969 Camaro LM1 350 SS 4-speed #matching Chevrolet 69 Hurst Muncie Muscle Car
1969 Chevrolet Camaro X11 LM1 350 Description
1969 Camaro with Numbers Matching Born with Original Engine (Sleeper Stealth) LM1 4 barrel 350 small block. This is the 1969 budget high performance engine package just under the SS. The engine is essentially the SS engine using same block crank, cam, intake carb etc. just with slightly lower compression heads. This was only available for a few months in the fall of 68 before it was cancelled. It was much cheaper than the SS but included all of the high performance equipment. This car came from the factory with the 12 bolt rear end, upgraded multi-leaf springs, dual exhaust, the muncie high performance 4 speed transmission and and a factory hurst shifter. This is a manual steering car with drum brakes. It was a relatively bare bones performance car for the budget minded. It still has its original engine serial numbered to the cars VIN and with the correct LM1 optioned 4 speed engine code. The original rear end and trans are gone, although it does have a period correct muncie with a hurst shifter included This is a project car. It will need most of the metal replaced as usual but it is a rare car with its original engine. I have not worked on the engine. I bought this a few years back on ebay from an estate. It was disassembled and stored in a storage unit. It has a clear and clean Illinois title in my name. I have partially re-assembled it so that it rolls in one piece. There are some additional misc. parts.that come with it in addition to what you see in the pictures. A mostly complete car (no hood or cowl vent grill, drive shaft, etc) the drive train (engin, trans, rear) is loosely bolted together for transport. Check out the LM1 registry on the net for more information on LM1 Camaros. I was going to restore it but I have a couple of camaros that are a higher priority for me. This will obviously need to be hauled on a trailer. It does not run (no fuel tank). I can help load it. It does roll freely and all parts can fit in the car. This was a style trim (pre X11 code) car. It had chrome brake louvers on the quarters, stainless wheel well moldings, and pinstripes. The pinstripes are still visible on one door and a fender. The back section of the backseat was missing when I got it. I have tossed in a rusty folding back seat frame. These are rare. This one needs some rust repair but could be used with some work. Both quarters have had replacement quarter skins installed. Replacement floor sections were cut but not installed. Thanks and have fun bidding.
