1958 Chevy Cameo Carrier barn find with great patina. This truck was parked in a dry Texas barn 40 years ago protecting it from the elements. It is a very straight solid truck. At some time in the past a big block and turbo 400 automatic transmission were transplanted into it.(condition of motor and trans are unknown) This truck is very complete and a perfect candidate for a high end restoration, or just clear it and have an awesome patina truck. The truck does not run or drive, but rolls and steers fine. Starting in the front the bumper, grille, bumper guards, headlights and headlight trim are in great shape. The hood is very straight and solid, however it does possess the biggest dent on the truck which is very minor under the hood emblem (see Pic). The left fender is very solid and straight, the right fender is straight but has some rust starting to blister in the lower portion (see pic). Cab is very solid and straight, perfect around all glass pinchwelds, front cab corners are solid inner and outer, Steps are very solid although the do have somerust pitting, but no holes. Floor is solid no holes at all but does have some pitting on the passenger side(see pics). Rear inner cab corners are solid, outer rear left cab corner has rust between cab and be, needs about a 3-4 inch patch, and the right outer cab corner has some blistering between cab and bed (see pics). Doors have very solid hinge pockets and outer skins but the bottoms of both inner doors need minor patch work around lower weatherstrip area(see pics). Windshield has a crack and vent windows have bubbles in glass the door glasses and rear window are good. All cab stainless can be repaired and polished. roof is straight and solid. The frame is solid on the truck but has been modified to accept the big block and trans. Retains all stock suspension but has adapters to 5 lug. left front shock is missing. Driveshaft is there but wired up to frame to roll around easily. Now for the important stuff Cameo bed parts. The fiberglass bedsides and tailgate cap are very solid no chunks missing and thefew cracks I can find are very minor only where the brackets bolt to the lower lip. The top potmetal rails that cover the bedside bolts are missing, but available aftermarket. All other potmetal trim is there and in above average condition, but will need chrome plating redone to be show quality. The rear bumper ends are solid just need chrome plating. The bumperettes are solid and bolts are not seized but have some dings, a good chrome shop should be able to straighten them. the bumper ends are solid and straight. the center fold down section is not frozen, works great and is solid and straight. the rear bumper need to be aligned. The taillights and bumperettes will be shipped inside the truck they are mocked up for pics only, and not securely attached. The tailgate opens great and the original retractors still function properly. It has a auto tilt and telescoping steering column. original radio speaker and deluxe heater. NO KEY, SOLD WITH TEXAS BONDED TITLE. TITLE WILL BE DELAYED ABOUT 6 WEEKS FOR PROCESSING. This is a very honest and accurate description of the vehicle. Feel free to come inspect or send an inspector. Some pics were taken with the truck wet so you can see how straight the panels are, it does not shine. This is a great start to a very rare and collectable truck. More pics available upon request for serious buyers.
