1973 Chevrolet Nova Description

Everyone knows that taking weight out is the same as putting horsepower in, so starting with a compact car like the Nova makes a lot of sense. This 1973 Nova offers a recent frame-off restoration, a great-running 350 cubic inch V8, which makes good power without adding a lot of weight in the nose, so handling remains crisp, and a 4-speed gearbox for a bit of extra fun. It's a cool cruise night brawler that can more than hold its own at the stop light grand prix. For some reason, these Novas seem to look absolutely smashing in traditional muscle car livery, so they thoughtfully added a steel cowl-induction hood and SS stripes during the build. It shows good gaps and panel alignment, which is typical of these sturdy little cars, and even Novas that have been used in more than their share of street skirmishes seem to hold together better than most cars of the era. The paint is well done, with white SS stripes covering the hood and trunk lid, and who doesn't love Laguna Blue with white stripes? With those stripes, there's no need to keep a low profile, so this car proudly wears '350' badges on the front fenders, a blacked-out SS grille, and a few SS badges as a kind of warning to the unwise. Everything else, from the chrome bumpers to the stainless trim around the wheels arches, was standard Nova equipment, making for a rather well-rounded package. A vast majority of Novas in 1973 were equipped with the standard bench seat, but buckets certainly fit and look right. The black upholstery is new, so they seats look crisp and well-definied, and offer a bit of extra bolstering to help in the handling department. A Hurst shifter complete with cue ball knob lives atop the 4-speed transmission, which tells you that this Nova is all business. The standard Nova dash and gauge cluster doesn't tell you much about what's going on under the hood, and is limited to just a speedometer and fuel level gauge, so they added a tach on the steering column. This one also carries factory A/C, there's a padded center armrest with cup holders, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo system provides the entertainment, so it's ready to cruise. The very clean trunk has no secrets, proving that this is a well-finished car. Power comes from a 350 cubic inch V8 that's a tidy installation in the Nova's engine bay. An Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holley 4-barrel make for a great induction team, while a few chrome dress-up parts make it sparkle. Power steering and brakes are welcome upgrades and the fresh dual exhaust system cackles. All of the A/C components are all new as it recently went through a complete rebuild, so when it's hot outside you can stay cool inside. The floors were replaced during the restoration and the rest of the chassis is quite clean, and includes the aforementioned 4-speed plus lots of new hardware, so this car is ready to cruise this summer with no added work on your part. This Nova rides a set of practically brand new 18-inch Ridler wheels sporting 235/40ZR18 skins up front and 255/35ZR18's putting the power to the pavement. This Nova has received a second lease on life with a hot small block under the hood and a beautifully done cosmetic restoration. Given the looks and handling of these great cars, it's no wonder they remain extremely popular today. Call now!
