I bought this 1970 Chevy Nova SS From the original owner of this car
before he passed away.I heard about this Nova and around 10 other classic, through a car club member I know in his area and ran up as soon as I could to buy the entire collection. Watch the video to the end to see the car The day I bought it. The previous owner bought it new when he lived in Clovis New Mexico from Doc Stewart Chevrolet and buick inc.
He moved to wisconsin around 1976, drove the car as his everyday car in summer, then after he had some knee troubles, he parked it in his garage I was told around the early 80's. It was inside his garage every since. This was a true barn find.
This nova, I saw, was mostly unmolested as far as I could tell and extremely solid as it was kept inside out of the elements for so long. I bought it brought it home, and had my guys go through it to see what it needed and if it could get running etc. To my surprise, my guys had it running by the end of the day by replacing the carb, doing minor tune up stuff, cleaning the gas tank out etc, putting a battery in etc. The fathom blue on it is the original color, it was faded and starting to show age, so I had it stripped to metal, primed and painted. I ordered new tires and rally wheels for it. I had exhaust put on as the original was showing its age and I wanted it to sound as mean as the car drove! The vinyl top is in good shape for being original. The chrome on the car is original as far as I can see. The interior is original interior with 733 code bucket seats from factory
. it looks good for the most part and very usable, there was a seam coming apart on the driver seat seam and edge of the seat, and the headliner has a hole starting on the back corner. It would be a very easy and cheap fix if you wanted to do i, never bothered me as it is not very noticeable and I really wanted to keep it as much of a survivor and original as I could. It has the era correct 4 speed trans (I changed from 3 spd) and the original rear end 3:31 posi trac 12 bolt. The L48 350 v8 engine is the original matching numbers 300 hp engine.
the 72k miles I was told are original and actual (I bought with 71313) but as it is ten years or older it is sold miles exempt. This car comes with a lot of documentation
. I have the original dealer papers, manual, manual case, original in transit card, registrations, new vehicle warranty pamphlet with steel stamped warranty card etc. original dealer key pins, Everything matches and backs up the history. I added a vintage radio that matches the original one's look. works great but the speaker needs to be replaced (its the original one). The tags are all there. This is a car that is only going up in value. It is a beast to drive and very rare being a one owner true SS. Watch the video and look at the pics, it really shows the car well for what it is.
I do not claim to be a expert on Nova's so make sure to ask me questions if you have any and I will do the best I can to get the answers. I have had this in my collection for the a long time now (over 13 years) and I will miss it. Only reason I am selling this (As well as some others in my personal collection (see my other listings) is that I bought a 63 split window corvette and I am using the funds from this sale to absorb some of the cost. This Nova runs and drives great (you can drive it home) and has a really good look
.As everybody has their own opinion on what a classic should be, I recommend coming to inspect the car here in my showroom at teddy s auto sales, or hire ebay to do a independent inspection for you, (note this should be done before the auction ends and not after.) make sure to study the pics and video so you see what you are getting. I require a non refundable 200 dollar paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end, if I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the car, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it.I can help recommend shippers i have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions at all, call me563 568 5111or563 568 1186! thanks
