1946 ½ ton Chevrolet 3100 pickup in good shape; older paint job of blue and black. Very solid, all steel truck, with the very rare option of factory overload springs. This is a great driver, and I’ve used it around our property. The 6 cylinder 216 stove bolt engine (DP548738) runs great and I believe is the original engine for this vehicle.
The 4-speed transmission (1st is the granny gear) and clutch work good, brakes are fine and steering is fine. All of the lights work as they should and the vacuum wiper motor works but not enough to run the wiper blade. The windows roll up and down smoothly, the cowl vent goes up and down easily and the doors open and shut nice.
All of the gauges work – temperature, odometer, speedometer, oil pressure, and charge indicator. It is still 6-volt. The Deluxe heater works, with dual fan motors – one for the defroster, one for the heater. The horn works, but the wire in the steering column is grounded so it stays on all the time (I've disconnected it).
All of the glass and weather stripping is in ok condition. The tires are bias ply. Overall condition of the body and paint is very presentable with a nice shine. Running boards have some dents in them. The trim is in good condition. The truck bed individual boards and rails are missing, and have been replaced with a single sheet of plywood. The hand brake needs new cables. The lower sheet metal shrouds around the engine are there. Overall, a very solid original truck in good condition.
Please look at all of the photos, then call 415-342-3352 if you’d like more information about this vehicle. I can send video of the engine running and driving down the road.
