1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Four-door Description

For sale is a 1957 Chevy 210 four-door sedan. It is powered by the original 8 cylinder 283 motor, 2 bbl with automatic transmission. It has less than 84,000 original miles on it. The car was originally sold by the Webb auto dealership in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I bought it from a gentleman from Lufkin, Texas who owned it for about a year. It has a clean clear title.

The car is in excellent original condition and has always been garaged. It has never been repainted. I have used soap, water, and Mothers 3 stages of wax, but not a drop of paint. It has a few nicks and bumps, a pockmark and fading as would be expected (see photos). But for a car of this vintage, the body is in excellent shape.

The engine is original. You can see from the photos that the engine compartment has not been detailed. The new owner may want to choose how this is done. I don’t want to spoil any “patina.” (I watch Antiques Roadshow®.) Note the hose to the interior heater is not connected. I have never investigated this as it doesn’t affect how the car runs.

The interior is in great shape. The original stock AM radio is included, but an AM/FM radio (not stock) is currently installed to allow for FM listening. The dash is clean and neat with all gauges in working order. There is some staining on the carpet but it is in generally excellent condition (see photos). The interior ceiling is in excellent condition. The door gaskets are original and show some wear. The windows function as they should. The glass is all original and is pristine except for the front passenger window which has a small star near the bottom (see photo). The seats have original springs with some wear. The newer upholstery tops are in excellent shape with no rips.

The trunk rubber cover mat is in excellent shape. The original jack and tire iron; and spare tire (not original), are in excellent shape. The trunk gasket is original and showing signs of wear.

Other things you should know if interested in buying this vehicle: The car’s VIN is VB57N217336. As was the case in 1957, it has no seat belts, no power steering, no power brakes, no rear backup camera. Prior to my ownership, the car won 9 first place awards for best original and comes with two first place trophies. Also included in the sale are the 1957 Guide to Your New Chevrolet, two ’57 Texas license plates, other owners printed materials including Warranty information (unfortunately no longer under warranty), and the gigantic 1957 Chevrolet Shop Manual. The car runs well. It burns a little oil which is not unusual for this make. In addition to some general maintenance, I recently replaced the carburetor with an identical rebuilt one, had the radiator repaired, had the front brakes serviced, replaced the gas tank and sender unit, replaced one of two mufflers, and installed a Diehard battery. Other than the battery installation, all labor was professionally performed.

Shipping: The car is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Buyer is responsible for pick up, or to arrange shipping. I will help as I can.

Payment: Within 72 hours of auction end, Buyer must send a deposit via cashier’s check or wired funds representing 10% of the purchase price. Transaction including shipping and final payment must be completed within ten days. Failure by Buyer to complete transaction forfeits deposit.

This is a no-reserve private-party listing. I am selling on EBay to hopefully get a reasonable price for the car, and to find someone who appreciates the relatively fine original condition of this 60-year-old vehicle. Please don’t buy it if you plan to chop it up.

The above information is to the best of my knowledge. I have owned this car since September, 2000.

If you appreciate a stock, original, classic good-running vehicle don’t let this one pass by.

If you have any questions or wish to see the vehicle, please contact me through EBay’s Contact Seller option. Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding!
