1979 Chevy Corvette L82
Numbers matching 1979 Corvette L-82 close ratio 4-speed very original, excellent survivor quality car. Odometer reads 33781 and that's actual mileage. Leather seats, clean interior, paint is very shiny with a few minor blemishes (this is original paint), glass T-tops look mirrored but are called blued and have cases for storage when off. Official paint color is Dark Brown Metallic, featured include: Power windows, power locks, power steering, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cold a/c and original WORKING 8-track stereo.
After I got this car 3 months ago, I spent over $1,300 on an allignment, a big brake job (rotors and pads replaced), new master cyllinder and system bled, having the a/c serviced and having the engine serviced. Right after that service, I took my 17 year old son on a 400 mile road trip and the Vette was perfect the entire time. It drives really well and the air blows super cold. The exhaust sounds amazing! Opening up that throttle on a big twisty mountain road and the sound that comes from that exhaust is just heaven. It's not original to the car, but it is true dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. The only other non original parts are the Street and Strip clutch, a few suspension components and that is really about it besides the maintenance things such as battery, alternator and such.
The bad: 1) The tach doesn't work. I don't know if it's the tach or the cable, I just didn't need it, so I left it. 2) The paint on the steering wheel hub and a couple of places on the sides of the seats is peeling off. 3) The Street and Strip clutch is more of a performance clutch and although it works perfectly, when the car is in neutral, it makes that racing clutch "kakakaka" sound, which might not suit everyone's taste.
I got this from the 3rd owner who owned it for 8 years. It's originally from Montana where he purchased it. It comes with the original window sticker, an owner's manual service books, books, two keys and a box full of 8 track tapes.
