We Let It Run For Awhile And The Temperature Gauge Shows It Runs Cool. The Car Shifts Smoothly Through The Gears While Idling But When Taken Out Of The Garage We Discovered That It Had No Brakes And Couldn't Go Any Further. Because Of This, We Could Not Check Out The Actual Steering, Shifting And Suspension, But Assume It Was In Good Operating Order. We Did Note That The Speedometer And All Gauges But The Click Did Work And The Side Exhaust Has A Nice Rumble To It Also, Only The Right Headlight Door Would Open And Close. Exterior: The Body Is In Poor Condition With The Right Front Fender Fiberglass Completely Broken Away In Several Places And Pieces Of Fiberglass Missing From The Loss Of A Wheel While Driving. The Left Rear Fiberglass Above The Tire Also Has A 6" Split In It. The Red Paint Was Also In Poor Condition With Numerous Chips And Scratches Seen Through Out The Entire Vehicle. The Car Had Been Repainted At Some Point And There Was Still Dirt And Trash Embedded In It. The White Convertible Top Has Rips And Tears And The Plastic Window Is Broken. All The Chrome Looks To Be Fairly Good But Was Dirty, So Hard To Tell. The Auxiliary Hard Top Is In Good Condition And All Original. Interior: The Red Vinyl Seat Upholstery, Carpets, Kick Panels And Dashboard Are Original And In Poor Condition. The Seats Are Ripped And Torn, The Carpet Faded And Detached And The Vinyl Dash Pad Is Cracked And Has Chunks Missing. The Door Panels And Interior Stainless/chrome Trim Pieces All Appear O Be Original With Normal Wear. We Also Noted That The Gauge Plastic Lenses Were Going Opaque. The Wiring Is Also Hanging Down In Several Places And A Mess With The Aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/cassette Radio In The Back Along With The Car. The Cost Was Around $700.00Engine Compartment: The Engine Numbers Are Not Original And Re-stamped. The Engine Compartment Does Have The Chrome Shielding, Valve Covers And Air Cleaner, But The Braded Spark Plug Wires Are Incorrect. The Compartment Itself Is Oily And Greasy.Chassis: The Undercarriage Is All Original And Correct, But Has Surface Rust, Oil And Dirt. This 1966 Corvette Convertible, 1 Of 17762 Convertibles Built, Is In Poor Condition But The L72 425bhp Engine, Roadsters Are Collectible (Even The Replaces Engine) And Fun To Drive.
