Where do I begin???? I purchased this truck back in September 2014 as a project truck. That only gave me about two months before the snow began to fly in Pittsburgh. That winter, I decided that I wanted to rework the suspension. It needed to be lowered. I wanted it done right so that it would be safe and reliable. I started talking with my friends in the hot rod community. I wanted to find the best.... One name kept popping up. Street Machinery of Euclid Ohio! If you are familiar with Street Machinery you know what fine craftsmanship they offer. After a few days of talking - I decided to go see them in person and discuss my vision and my budget. When I came back, I shipped my truck to them that very next day. They started working immediately on the frame they replaced a section of the frame because of some minor rot. It was sectioned out and replaced from a donor frame. They then replaced all of the suspension for me. They did the bags, shocks, tanks and compressor lines. I had the rear end C Notched and the bed was raised. I replaced the old bed wood with new wood as well as a new fuel cell which was relocated under the bed. After that was all completed, I still thought something was missing. I decided to add a pinstripe for character... No, it needed something more. I decided that I wanted to add door logos to my truck - It started off as a simple idea that was quick to become a conversation topic. " The Dixmont State Hospital " The Dixmont was opened in the 1800's and was closed in 1984 and demolished in 2006. The Dixmont was one of Pennsylvania's first insane asylums and was considered one of the finest run asylums in the country. In the winter of 2016... I could not stop.... I wanted more... I pulled the motor and transmission and replaced them with brand new Goodwrench SBC 350 Crate Motor and 700 R4 Transmission. For those of you taking the time to read this.... This is no longer a project truck! It is a very reliable, great running truck. Needs but not NEEDED... Doors seals, Passenger Side door needs adjusted, Heat and maybe a radio... This could absolutely be an everyday driver with no problem. If you want something with shiny paint and straight lines.... THIS TRUCK IS NOT FOR YOU!!!! If you are looking for something unique... has history and drives great.... I would love to hear from you..
