A real-deal 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport convertible is a wonderful thing. But then when you check out the enhanced V8 and all the other sporty features of this all-red classic droptop, you'll soon realize just how much of an opportunity this is.
While a full-size vintage convertible is always a great idea, this one seems to do it better than the rest. The '66 Impalas were part of a new era that made them longer, lower, and sleeker. Plus, the crisp lines with a "kick up" behind the rear door makes this downright sporty. The red paint seems to capture this attitude nicely by offering a higher degree of gloss and shine from the modern application. This one also the details right with the full-length trim, Super Sport badging, and the well-integrated rear bumper that frames the iconic triple taillight package. And of course, we all love the sight of Rally wheels on these classic Chevys.
While the white roof looks great against the red paint, we're an even bigger fan of how it looks with it down. The interior gives this an all-red presentation that seems to fit an Impala SS. And we particularly like the way it looks because of newer upholstery. More than just a solid investment in the right color, there's plenty of comfort, too. A Super Sport of this era means bucket seats and a center console. So while there's plenty of room in the back for family and friends, you'll always be riding in individual comfort. In fact, the driver gets the best treats as you slip behind the factory wheel with Impala center cap, and that gives you a clear view of the speedometer that's as wide as the horizon. Plus, the dash is framed around you with features for everything from the factory heat/defrost sliders to the upgraded Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo.
When you look under the hood, the polished components like the air topper, valve covers, and alternator shield give a nice presence to Chevy's small block V8. This bright and tidy presentation is another sign of investment in this droptop. And below the surface, this 327 cubic-inch motor has been rebuilt and fortified. It now includes forged & balanced aluminum pistons and chrome moly rings. It's topped with the proper Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor to inhale deeply. Plus, the sound from the dual exhaust gives the undertones of power without being overbearing. All of this makes you want to take this Impala out for a cruise. That's why it also comes with great driving features like power steering, front disc brakes, and a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission.
This is the Impala that knows how to both drive and arrive. So if you want a classic that's easy to run, maximizes fun, and is a red-blooded American, this one is waiting for you. But it won't linger for too long, so call today!
