1992 Z28 Camaro Heritage Edition
1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Heritage Edition Description
Call it a "Barn Find", "Collector", or "Survivor" the story is the same, 1992 Camaro Z28 Heritage Edition with only 10,058 actual miles! This car has always been in Arizona or New Mexico.
The Third Generation Camaro's are now getting the attention of collectors. Original cars like this one are difficult for the enthusiast, collector or investor to find. No matter what your motivation to own one you need to take a look at this car!
The car is totally original except for modifications made by the original owner who was employed at the GM testing facility in Mesa, AZ. Mr. Lockwood has kindly provided a letter referencing the mods which were the addition of 1LE front brakes, spindles, hoses, and aftermarket rotors, and a aluminum drive shaft. He kept it garaged and used only full synthetic oil. During his ownership two recalls were done by GM, trans cable replacement and gas tank assembly replacement.
The second owner is a collector and also kept it garaged. No known work or mods were done by him.
I am a classic GM truck enthusiast but this car caught my eye and I wasn't able to resist. I have had it for about five years and during that time added around 3,000 miles to the odometer and can attest to its great performance. I removed the original Good Years and bagged them the day I got it home and they are still pliable and usable but I didn't want to put more miles on them. The rubber in the suspension was getting brittle so I replaced it, one injector was failing so I replaced all of them. Of course I have replaced the wiper blades, radiator cap and battery. Not driven in adverse weather though.
Exterior; The paint is original and in excellent condition except for a few chips in the badge holder area of grill (close up pics of this area). I have not touched up any of the paint as I consider that as patina/originality of the car. Glass is excellent as are the wheels.
Interior; The interior is original and in excellent condition as well.
I will include all documentation that I have with the car including but not limited to the aforementioned letter from Mr. Lockwood, build sheet, original window sticker, unopened instructional cassette, two original keys, two replacement keys, and GM Mesa facility parking spot key fob. Plus a lot more pertinent to the car.
Check out the pics and info and I will answer any and all questions as best I can. Reason for selling, I have two trucks to finish and no room, 1954 5window second owner and 1970 C-10 long bed. Then there is always the age thing.
The car is in South West New Mexico (yes it is a state) and can be reached via Phoenix or Albuquerque by daily commuter flight or of course by vehicle.
