1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 4 Speed Immaculate California Car 73,590 Miles
1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Description
Up for auction is my 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in immaculate condition which runs and drives great with functional hood air induction. California car until 2016 and always rust-free with 73,590 miles and even includes original blue license plates, owners manual and all brochures from new and a box of maintenance records and receipts. Beautiful exterior/interior combination of silver paint with deluxe silver vinyl and gray cloth interior. The paint and interior are both in outstanding condition. The original 305 V8 engine (350 not available with manual transmission in 1981) and 4 speed transmission run and function excellent.
Body: The paint and body are in immaculate condition. Most was repainted due to California sun baking the clear coat which neededfreshing up. No rust or rust repairs ever which includes exterior body panels, floors and trunk. The front and rear spoiler decals were replaced at time of repaint but side and hood ones were not but still look nice. New matching side decals are included with sale.
Interior: The interior is in very nice condition. The seats don't have any rips, cracks, tears or stains and are very comfortable. All accessories and gauges work including buzzer and dome lamp. The air conditioning does work but has a slow leak and needs to be charged and is still R12 so leak needs to be fixed first. I filled with R12 when car was purchased and all functioned properly but freon leaked out after a week or so. The dash pad does have some cracks which were surely caused by the California sun. The radio has been replaced with an aftermarket unit. The console is in nice condition and not broke or cracked. The shifter has been upgraded to a Hurst Competition Plus but original shifter with ball are included. The carpet is in nice condition. The trunk is very nice with original carpet, spare, and jack assembly with no rust.
Drivetrain: The original 305 V8 engine (350 not available with manual transmission in 1981) and 4 speed transmission both function fantastic. The 305 runs great and has quite a bit of power which wasn't anticipated but paired with 4 speed it performs very well and sounds great. The hood air induction functions properly. The transmission shifts smoothly and precise and clutch functions as it should also. Was upgraded to aHurst Competition Plus shifter but original shifter with ball are included. All original smog equipment is still intact. The exhaust still has thecatalytic converter but has dual Flowmaster mufflers after for a great performance rumble.
Wheels and Tires: Still has the original wheels in nice condition without curb damage. The tires have a lot of tread but do have some cracking between tread due to age. Theoriginal spare looks unused.
