Restored 1961 Classic Chevy Impala
1961 Chevrolet Impala Description
1961 Chevy Impala 4 door hardtop Sport model (no center post). Engine is a Big Block 348, V-8 with a new Edlebrock 4 barrel carb. She has lived her life in Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, and now the Alabama Gulf Coast. VIN# 11839N135529.
She has dual exhaust with a beautiful rumble. I installed the fender skirts she came with to give her the classy look for Impalas of this year. Front lap belts have been installed for safety. Correct OEM aluminum trim plates installed below both sets of doors. New door weather stripping installed on one door. Original type OEM air cleaner assy/filter installed (she had a chrome one and will include it with sale). Parking brake adjusted. Oil recently changed. New plugs installed.Had aftermarket A/C installed before I got her 2+ years ago from a restoration outfit in Texas (Garage Junkies). A/C under dash unit blows nice and cold! New windshield washer tank and hoses installed. Washer fluid bottle installed. She came with new HANKOOK white wall tires and like new spare along with proper jack and lug wrench. I purchased the proper front floor mats for a 1961; black with the white Chevy circle and bow tie emblem. I exercise her 50 miles a month in town and on the highway, and there is never an issue. She turns heads and gets numerous honks and thumbs up!! She stays covered in the garage to keep her beautiful Roman Red, glass sealed, paint job in beautiful condition. She runs on non-ethanol gas since she is not fuel injected and is stored most of the time. SHE IS A CLASSIC CAR RESTORATION....NOT A HOT ROD OR MODDED VEHICLE.
If you want to come see her and drive her, let me know. If you need to ship her to you, that is your arrangement to make. I had her shipped to me from Texas.
Just a few things left to do to "Lucille", but I have just gotten too busy with other retired things. I have purchased additional spare parts and accessories and I can send additional pics of these if you request. I entered her in her first Car Show last fall and she won a top 30 trophy!
Things she needs finished:
Electrically hook up the wiper/washer motor I recently had rebuilt and that I reinstalled. (she has not been out in the rain, obviously). 2 speed dash switch may require replacement (new one on hand).
Had turn signals fixed, but they are manual reset. According to my classic car mechanic, she needs a new steering column in order to have turn signal arm return automatically. They are available from classic car parts houses, and are for purchase on eBay. Surprising how many parts are available for these classic Chevys!!
There is a small power steering leak that eventually will require new part(s?) and fluid installed.
Window roll down handles for the front window vents work, but are a bit stripped. Epoxy or new handles are needed.
She is advertised on Autotrader Classics as well as numerous Facebook sites.
SHE IS, OF COURSE, SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY
NO TRADE OFFERS, PLEASE!!
