1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car Edition Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car Edition Description

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and stunning example of this 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition Coupe with believed to be only 9,100 original miles!Only 645 official replicas of these exclusive cars were built for 1993 with the redesigned Camaro having being once again selected to pace the Indy 500, thereby being the first car to hold this honor for an unprecedented 4th time. Built with the 5.7L 275hp V8, Chevrolet also fitted the Pace... Car with the Corvettes 4-speed automatic transmission, as well as assorted safety features and every available option for the model year, including air conditioning, T-tops and a CD player. The '93 pace car was driven at the track by Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins, who had previously driven the 1990 Beretta. Only 645 Camaro Z28 Indy replicas were built, with 125 of those used for parade duty at the speedway. This 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Pace Car is a rare find on a number of counts. It's well equipped for inspired driving, sports a look all its own - with a very eye-catching two-tone paint job - and has been rarely driven, with only 9k obvious and believed to be original miles. You don't need more than a quick glance to see this is one uncommon Z28. The black and white exterior - with a white foundation extending to just below the height of the tires before transitioning into jet black above - combines with a series of intertwined, colored stripes on its rear flanks and official Indianapolis 500 pace car decals on its doors and front fenders to proclaim its distinctive, racing-inspired lineage. Unlike a lot of cars that feature convertible or removal tops, this is one that retains its visual impact both with its T-tops in place or in open air configuration.1993 heralded the arrival of the fourth generation of Camaros, and Chevy marked the occasion by adding more flowing lines from front to back, as well noticeably more pronounced curvature around all four wheel wells, for a refined overall look. The results of their efforts also yielded a performance car with great wind-efficiency - cutting through the air with a drag coefficient nearly that of the Corvette. Meant to be a corner-hugger, it sits nice and low to the ground for an optimal center of gravity. This particular example both performs and looks exactly like a new car - you could hardly tell the difference! Please note that the Carfax report does show a mileage discrepancy in 2001 when the car was first registered in California from Illinois, from where it had been reportedly stored and never licensed or driven on the road since new, and which both the previous owner and we ourselves believe is an obvious mistake or DMV error and we welcome and indeed encourage any potential buyer to either view the car if possible or otherwise at the very least have the car inspected prior to purchase in order to satisfy themselves both of the condition of the car and to corroborate the car's ultra low summary this is one very unique and comfortable modern day classic sports car, with believed to be only 9K original miles, and what must surely be in any case one of the finest example's anywhere of this unabused and maturely driven 1993 Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car Edition models, which was obviously always well maintained and serviced and garaged and covered since new!
