1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Description

Already a multiple award winner, this slick 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe 2-door is just the right custom rod if you're the family type. Room for four, a smooth 327 under the hood, and a timeless look mean that it's ready to go anywhere this summer and will look great doing it. That wrap-around grille was the definitive look for 1939 GM products and had a custom look right out of the showroom. However, this Chevy has extensive body modifications that invisibly blend with the original look to create something truly special. Most obvious is the chopped top that gives it a sleek profile without killing headroom, and it works well with the Vee'd windshield. Other tweaks include shaved door handles and bumpers, smoothie fiberglass running boards (the 'glass front fenders are also from Fat Man), flush-fitting gas tank door, and a frenched license plate frame. The turquoise paint looks great on the fat fendered Chevy but doesn't go overboard with graphics, instead letting the ultra-smooth bodywork do all the talking. However, it's worth noting that the cool stuff like those hood vents and high-mounted taillight pods are stock 1939 Chevy stuff, again reinforcing the fact that the best customs blend old and new invisibly. Bamboo tweed makes for a comfortable interior that'll look awesome for years to come thanks to quality workmanship and durable materials. The front buckets are immensely supportive and all-day comfortable and the full-sized rear seat will handle two for a cross-country trip without any complaints. Sculpted door panels look great and have neatly integrated armrests from a late-model as well as billet hardware for the door and window handles. The original dash features a billet instrument panel full of Dakota Digital gauges, with extra attention paid to keeping everything smooth. Under the dash there's a powerful A/C system that hides in plain sight, and the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit that practically disappears when you shut it off. A leather-wrapped LeCarrera steering wheel atop a tilt column gives it the feel of a far more modern car from the driver's seat, and they did a nice job bringing the exterior turquoise color inside without it becoming overpowering. Even the trunk is masterfully upholstered in the same bamboo tweed with a trick battery box and amplifier for the stereo system mounted inside. Cruising is easy with the right powerplant, and the 327 cubic inch Chevy V8 is the right combination of horsepower and reliability. With an estimated 340 horsepower on tap, this vintage Chevy is anything but slow, yet the bulletproof drivetrain means that cross-country trips are a no-brainer. Topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and manifold, the sweet-running small block pulls hard in any gear, yet with a giant radiator and electric fan, is happy to idle in traffic with the A/C running, even on the hottest day. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic feeding the rear end out of a 1970 Pontiac, which hangs on a set of leaf springs that offer a soft ride. Up front, a Mustang II type independent setup with disc brakes is a big improvement over the ancient Chevy setup, and the pretty 15-inch billet aluminum wheels wear big-n-little BFGoodrich radials. A high-quality build intended for the road, this Chevy is the ideal car if comfort and space are priorities, with all its other virtues just icing on the cake. Call today!
