1967 Camaro “Indy Pace Car” 350 automatic transmission 12 bolt.
Needs restoration
Was purchased in Bayside NY
Bayside Chev, delivered April 13th
Car has been sitting since 1994..... floor only has the small one you see on driver pedal area..
Trunk has rust scalling and about a 3inch x 2 inch hole...
Very very solid car!
It is 1967 Camaro Pace Car convertible. “Festival” cars that were sold to dealers for the Pace setter program...This car did not to my knowledge used in or on the race day.
According to the experts, there were only 100 of these cars produced;
88 350 CID “small block” cars
5 396 “Big Block” automatic transmission cars
7 396 “Big Block” 4-speed manual transmission cars.
“Replica Pace Camaros”
- The “Replica Pace Camaros” do not show the “0-1" Paint code. Instead a “C-1" Paint stamping on the firewall trim plate designates the white upper and lower exterior combination. Research indicates that “all” Festival Camaros were manufactured at the Norwood, Ohio assembly plant, while replicas show both the Norwood and Van Nuys, plant .This car has a numbers matching, date code correct, engine and transmission as well as 12 bolt rear end.
The motor is out of car and needs machine shop work and rebuilding.
There is a corvette engine in it now
Trans and rear are still intact with trac bar
ONLY PACE CARS HAD TRAC BARS WITH AUTOMATICS!
Has original exhaust system.
Car is at my home in Merrick NY write me to make appointment.
Last owner was very tall and installed 69 Camaro seats.
The engine will need about 1400 machining before rebuilding...no cracks just needing sleeves and a linebore.
