1985 Chevrolet Corvette Leather Graphite Description
Greetings Ebay viewers.
I am the original owner of this 1985 Corvette that has been in my ownership since brand new. I purchased it from Hindley Chevrolet, Highland Falls, New York which was drop shipped brand new to my dealer in California.(I requested that the dealer not do the new car preparation for reasons going back to my bad experience with my first new Corvette in the early 60"s) Therefore, the car is California from the beginning and never even out of California much less in inclement weather.
I ordered this in the fall of 1984 with the optional Lear Seigler Sport seat (orthopaedic and multi adjustable) in leather facings. The delay in production of this production of option (leather facings) resulted in my not receiving delivery until late May, 1985. I actually went to the delivery depot to inspect the car, prior to its delivery to Crest Chevrolet in San Bernardino, California.
I have the original bill of sale, and Certificate of Origin from Hindley Cheverolet, and I believe the window sticker. Of course all books, manuals, etc. As all of you know, the 4+3 Doug Nash manual is rare. Being a mature owner, this car was never once abused. I have, in its life replaced the clutch with an original GM clutch that is in perfect order. There is not one item on this car that is not working, nor original to GM. it includes the original Delco Bose Sound System, the Bilstein Shock Absorbers as were provided on Z51. It has the removable blue tinted top as new. In addition, the car has the original (replaced years ago) Goodyear Gatorbacks as specified by the factoryUpholstery is original as is the original paint that has no excuses and looks as good as a 1-2 year old car.
The images provided are of an original, non restored and not refurbished 1985 Corvette. Rarely will you ever find the original owner selling such a nice car. I will repeat, that the interior, exterior and drive-train are entirely original. Although, there was a popular chip and intake system that improved horsepower at that time that I installed 30 years ago which is non GM. I am sure, for the purist, this would be returned to original.
The National Corvette Restoration Society now recognizes this year as a survivor class. This car will most completely fit that role, if not beat out any concours restoration. The only repaint is to the front and rear ABS bumpers which sadly did not stand the test of time.
Please keep in mind that the images are in fact of an original car and not a restoration. Carpets never stepped on since new. No accident history. Always serviced and parts replaced with original GM Delco.
This sale is for the benefit of those who will appeciate this fine totally original Corvette. I know all those people who say their's is the best on Ebay. Don't know, but if you see it, you will agree.
Car should easily qualify for National Corvette Restorer's Society Survivor class. It is in near concours condition as well.
Mileage now 94040 mostly highway
