You're looking at a No Reserve auction on a beautiful 1955 Chevrolet 210 Delray Club Coupe finished in Skyline Blue and India Ivory (the most popular color combo that year). The car is mostly stock, but the original 265 V8 was replaced with a 355 cubic inch V8 (350 bored .30" over) Engine ID Code: V0102TFH. It has been built with a Melling Stage 1 camshaft, Corvette Intake Manifold with 4-Barrel Carburetor, Ohio pistons (silicone), Chrome Hastings Piston-Rings, Clevite Rods & Main Bearings, Fel-Pro Gaskets, Melling Oil-Pump, TRW Intake & Exhaust Valves and Hedman Exhaust Headers run to dual mufflers & exhaust. The Cylinder Heads were Ported, Polished & Milled perfectly flat & straight in addition to all the other machine work that was performed on the engine-block. It does not smoke, tick or knock, and runs very well. Sounds nice & healthy with plenty of power, but even with headers, isn't obnoxiously loud.
The original transmission was a 2-speed Powerglide, but is now a 3-speed Turbo Hydromatic 350 automatic. It shifts nice and firmly through the gears just as it should. There are brand new brake pads all around and the Master Cylinder was recently replaced (the brake shoes could stand to be adjusted, and system bled one more time, but they work fine). The headlights & taillights all work. The turn-signals work, but don't blink while you're applying the brake-pedal (perhaps that's just how they functioned back then?). The dome light & even the glove-box light still works. The belt & fluids all look good (no major drips or leaks), tires are not weather-checked, it has newer shocks.I wouldn't hesitate to drive this vehicle anywhere on a moment's notice, it's very dependable & road-worthy.
The original optional Delray upholstery on the interior door-panels and seats are getting tattered, but the original headliner is in great shape. All of the glass is perfect, and un-cracked, with no delamination or pitting. The dash board appears to still wearing its original factory paint (again that color was part of the Delray interior package). The gas gauge and speedometer work, as does the "Gen" light, even (though this car now has a modern alternator for reliability), and there are a couple of aftermarket (oil-pressure and water-temp) gauges mounted under the dash which also work properly. The heater is not currently working, but this is a fair-weather car anyway. There is some rust in the floor-pan on the underside, but the trunk floor is extremely solid, even down in the bottom of the spare-tire well as you can see in the pictures! The car has had one re-paint, and the body is very-straight! It's not wavy, dented or chipped up (not even on the front of the hood where cars typically get bug-chips). There are a few very minor bubbles way down low on the rocker-panels (but factory stainless rocker-trims from a Bel Air model would completely hide those blemishes). See pictures. Otherwise paint is very, very nice throughout!
Seriously interested individuals are welcome to stop by and take a test-ride in the car (or have it inspected if you can't get here yourself). I'd be happy to bring it to any mechanic or body-shop of your choice in the Mason City, Iowa area.I'm confident that it won't disappoint. The Delray model is quite a bit more rare than the standard 210 model. I checked the cowl-tag, and VIN. This is a real Delray, not a clone, as indicated by the 55-1011A code. I don't know what else to say about the vehicle, but anyone who has any further questions is welcome to message me through eBay.
