The following is a little history about these Impala SS cars and the car listed here.

The styling of full-size Chevrolets continued to evolve through the early 1960s, taking an aesthetic leap forward in the 1965 models designed in secret by Chief Designer Irv Rybicki, whose concept was approved despite the fact that GM’s board of directors had already given the green light to a previous design. With its forward-leaning front-end treatment, prominent rear-fender rise, curved side glass and sharp wraparound character line, the 1965 models were so successful that Chevrolet made only minor revisions for 1966. In 1966, the Impala remained the biggest seller and it was a more deluxe Chevrolet. The Impala was also still sporting the triple unit wraparound rear taillights. The Super Sport was once again a separate Impala model offered in two-door coupe and convertible form. The signature Super Sport script was relocated to the front fenders and distinctive SS badges were added to the grille and trunk lid. Super Sport interiors were typically well appointed with Strato bucket seats and a full-length console. A hot new feature that returned for 1966 was the optional big-block V-8 engine introduced the year before. Factory rated at 325 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque, the matching-numbers L35 version powering this 1966 Impala SS convertible is mated to a heavy duty 3-speed transmission on the column, its performance is augmented by power steering and brakes.
