1965 Corvair Monza 110 Convertible
1965 Chevrolet Corvair Description
1965 Corvair Monza Convertible with white top and functioning AC (modern compressor and 1966 coil) and functioning original heat. Good driver quality Corvair. No known mechanical issues. Has had the engine oil seals replaced top to bottom including each push rod tube seals (famous for leaking) with new high temperature o-rings. The rear suspension bushings are all new nylon and replaced the original rubber bushings. Tires and motor have less than 10,000 miles on them. The dual carburetors are tuned and balanced and will start and run perfectly every time here at sea level. The transmission shifts well with the bushings replaced with Clarks Corvairs bronze shift shaft bushing kit. The 4 wheel drum brakes are strong enough to lock all tires quite easily and function just as well as they did in 1965. The convertible top and boot are in good condition and function well. The only known problems are the plastic hold down latches in the back that hold the top down when it's open are broken but are just 2 bolts to replace and about $20 at Clarks Corvairs IIRC. Also the solid aluminum oil pan has a very slow drip but any Corvair without a small oil leak is probably out of oil. I have owned this car for over 3 years and have never once been left stranded. The motor and transmission are healthy and strong with the motor showing good compression in each cylinder around 130psi +-10 each and no oil consumption. I love this car but I have too many toys and a wedding to pay for so the Corvair has drawn the short straw and must go. Additionally She will be sold as is where is with no warranty written or implied as per Texas law regarding personal sale of used vehicles.
