1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Description

This is a tough car to come by. A highly desireable platfom for building your dream. It is now time to re home it.
Being a Mid Western car it suffers from deterioration from the ground up.
  • The frame has been repaired and is sagging. It has moved enough to change the adjustmetnn of the drivers door. The frame will need to be replaced.
  • The floor is below average. It has crossed the line of needing many patches and should have a new floor skin.
  • The trunk has been patched with fiberglass. Most likely will need there is rust in the area above the gas tank.
  • The quarters look to be good, but the bottom edges are rather rusty on the back side down low. I can see this by looking at them through the drop downs. if you look at the trunk pictures, you can see that there isn't any rust going up in the quarters.
  • The rockers look to be good, but I can see it is being attacked by rust from the back side. I can see that because the inner rocker panels have holes.
  • Overall, the car is complete and untouched.
Frames are cheap. They sell a box kit on line that allows you to box a regular chevelle frame. It runs about $200 less your labor to weld it in. All the sheet metal is available on line.
The car does run and move. I put some gas in it and some tranny fluid in it and it ran and moved to load. Not bad after sitting for 14 plus years in the same spot!
There is a clean title with the car.
I can wait for the car to be picked up and can also help with loading it. If it goes on a trnasport, it should be loaded with a winch. I wouldn't want to be liable for any damage if you were to load it and something went wrong with braking or running. Again, this car has been off the road for many years and will need to be throuroughly checked out.
