1977 Chevrolet Camaro LT Description
1977 Chevrolet Camaro LT 57,870 Miles 2 Owners – Same Owner Since 1980 305ci V8 / Automatic Transmission VIN: 1S87U7L648228 Trim: Black Vinyl (19N) Paint: Black (W19) 1: General Motors S: Type LT 87: Sport Coupe / Camaro U: 305ci V8, 145hp 7: 1977 L: Van Nuys Production Plant 648228: Sequential Number We purchased this ‘77 LT Camaro from a gentleman in North Dakota who had owned the car since 1980. He purchased the car from the original owner when the car was nearly new. He was an enthusiast and over the years became a collector of 70s GM cars. As it sits, this is a very nicely sorted, low-mileage car that is in need of nothing. It presents very nicely, and runs/drives equally as well. Exterior: - Black is the original color, and the car has been repainted once. Paint gauge readings are consistent with one repaint, and there is no bondo or previous body repair on the car. While the paint does show really well, it’s not totally perfect. There are a few spots on the car where you can see some very light dust under the paint; it’s by no means glaring, but it is there. There are very few cosmetic blemishes on the car; most notable is a small spot of bubbling under the paint on the lower forward portion of the driver’s rocker. Bubbles have not cracked the paint, and are only visible upon close inspection. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack free - Keystone Klassic wheels are in excellent shape, as are the Radial TA tires. - Body is nice and straight. No dents or dings on the car. - Trim is all intact and in nice shape, with no oxidation. - Polished mudflaps match the wheels/car very nicely. Interior: - Dash is fantastic. No cracks, scuffs, or signs of wear really. All gauges are functional, and the odometer reading of 57,870 is accurate. - Seats show a bit of age; driver’s seat bottom has a few cracks, and there is another crack on the outer driver’s seat bolster. Passenger seat is in nice shape. - Door panels are in excellent shape, with no kicked-open markings or damage. - Pioneer radio is functional - Air conditioning remains on R12 refrigerant and is not functional. - Fan, heat, and defrost are functional. - Black carpeting is in nice shape, and the car will come with Camaro-branded floormats as well. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Air shocks in the rear; ride height is adjusted by a valve in the trunk. Ride height is at its lowest in the photos. - Original U-code 305ci V8 is in excellent mechanical order. Car runs and drives very well. Starts right up, idles cool and steady, accelerates without any hesitation, shifts smoothly, tracks straight, and brakes well. No noises or tendencies of any concern whatsoever. Wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere. - Underbody is in nice shape. While there is some minor surface rust, there is no damage and absolutely no through rust or anything close to it, impressive considering that these cars were not undercoated from the factory. This car has been garage-kept and babied since the North Dakota based owner purchased it in 1980. Overall, this is a well presented, ready-to-enjoy ‘77 LT that is sure to make the next owner very happy.
