1973 Chevrolet Corvette Description

What we have here is a 1973 Vette, warts and all. I picked this up a few months ago with the intentions of building a hot rod. When I pulled the gas tank to replace it I found the factory build sheet and realized that this was a rare 1 of 45 Z07 optioned car. As you can see in the photo the build sheet is in pretty rough condition but you can still read it. The codes included are LS4, J50, N40, QRM, UF1, Z07, U69, M21, T60, GV7, Z12, 1GB, ZP2, VK3. Now, considering the warts: it is definitely a project. As far as the Z07 options are concerned, the J56 front brake calipers have been replaced with the standard brake calipers. A previous owner that didn't realize the value of the original parts decided to rebuild the front end and replaced the front calipers with over the counter units. I know, it kills me to even think about it. The heavy-duty rear spring is still there as well as the front and rear sway bars. Now, by the time I got the car someone had removed the original motor and installed a non matching numbers 454. The original Muncie Rock Crusher 4-Speed is still in the car, and someone has installed a blast proof bellhousing. I also have the original aluminum bellhousing which will be included with the car. As you can see in the pics this is a complete project. I have the tail light lenses as well as the chrome bumpers and all of the little trim pieces that you don't see in the photographs. The frame itself is solid and only has surface rust. I've checked the usual spots and didn't find any cancer on the frame. That being said I would really feel much more comfortable if you were to come and inspect the car for yourself. When I got the car it had been painted dark gray and someone had installed a white velvet interior that was beyond saving. I soda blasted the exterior of the car and got down to the original Elkhart green paint (see pics) and after that I sprayed the car with feather fill (light gray) to protect what was there and prepare to sand everything smooth. As you can see I started sanding it down and the body is pretty darn straight. The only major damage is the heater core cover and a bit of the firewall (looks like a poor attempt at a repair) (see pic) there is also a crack between the front bumper and the drivers headlight door (see pic). There are plenty of small chips and blemishes to be repaired but nothing major. As I said before, the interior had been completely covered in white crushed velvet that had aged into a god-awful bile yellow. I peeled as much as I could off but there may be no way of saving all of the interior pieces. They are all included but I would just count on replacing them all. The car also came with the original luggage rack and that is also included in the auction. It's in good shape and all of the hardware is there as well as the rubber washers. The motor is a '78 passenger car 454 and has an Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holley 750 double pumper carburetor, water pump is new, starter is new, fuel tank is new and there is a brand new brass radiator included. Overall, this is a solid Foundation for a restoration. if the car doesn't sell I plan on hot rodding it and enjoying it for myself. I just wanted to let someone else have a chance to restore a rare car the way it should be restored. If you have any questions feel free to message me or call me at 772-two03-0133 anytime before 10 p.m. eastern time. Ask for Mike. I am located in Florida and I would be willing to work with you as far as getting the car transported. I could possibly deliver it, but we would have to discuss terms and cost.
