1985 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Station Wagon.
73,000 original mile really clean 1985 Caprice Estate Wagon.
She runs, drives and handles great, rides smooth.
Chevy 305 5.0 4bl V8/automatic. No weird noises, runs quietly and she shifts smoothly.
Fully optioned car, windows, locks, cruise, tilt, seats and so forth.
I’ve had the car for about 8 years and have put the last 25k miles on her. Garaged for most of its life.
She came to Florida from the West coast, so never a northern car.
The interior, exterior, wood paneling and mechanicals are all in great condition. I had the white section of the car painted a few years ago, base/clear coat just to give her a fresh look at the time. The paint shines nicely. The original owner had the seats covered with vinyl to protect them when the car was new, I removed them when I purchased the car. The upholstery is in beautiful condition. Carpet is really nice as well. Headliner is about 3 years old. There is a 3rd row seat, it doesn’t appear to have ever been sat upon.
Dash has no cracks, lights, cruise control, radio, all 5 windows, locks, everything works as it should.
Included are the wagons original color matched GM rubber floor mats, along with two sets of burgundy aftermarket carpet floor mat sets. They are basically floor mats, to protect the floor mats to protect the floor mats (A little obsessive).
A/C blows cold, the complete system was replaced about a year ago, this included evap, dryer, hoses, condenser and compressor.
Original AM/FM cassette stereo that works well. I’m not sure if the cassette player works, I couldn’t find a tape to test it. The wagon originally had a power antenna, I replaced it twice, the third time it went out, I installed a normal non-power antenna.
I had a key-less entry/alarm installed, there are two key fobs to lock/unlock the car as well as two sets of keys.
Original luggage roof rack.
Tires are about 4 months old (Cooper Trendsetter SE) and have a trip to Mississippi and back on them, maybe 3500 miles. The spare tire, although not pictured, is a match to the tires on the car.
Breaks are newer. Car has rear adjustable air shocks and the battery is relatively new.
When I first got her, I had the valve cover gaskets replaced. My mechanic actually had me come to the shop to see how clean the underside of the valve covers and rockers were. He was quite impressed that a 25 year old car at that time, was in such good mechanical shape. I still use the same mechanic.
This has been a very well maintained car for all of its life. I am obsessive regarding maintenance and oil changes. I’ve included a picture of the oil on the dipstick, she’s due for her 3k oil change in a little less than 300 miles, at oil change time, the oil is still almost clear. I’ve never been late with having the oil changed. There are no fluid leaks.
The heat does not work in the car, living in Florida, this isn't an issue. The heater core was bypassed years ago.
Being 33 years old, there are a few blemishes here and there. Please look carefully at the photographs. Both front and rear filler panels (plastic section between the cars bumper and body) were replaced, but the front one recently developed a small crack in it (pictured). The wood paneling is still in very good condition with just a few flaws, one 2" mark over the left rear tire and the other on the lower right rear quarter.
If you’ve any questions, please ask. If you are close to West Palm Beach and would like to see the car prior to bidding, you are very much welcome to do so. Just shoot me an email and we can make the arrangements.
Shipping is up to the winning bidder/buyer. I will do what I can on this end to assist. Or you could fly into West Palm and drive her home. I personally wouldn’t hesitate to drive her across country. She got about 22 MPG when I drove to Mississippi and back in November.
Title is clear and in my name, I’m technically the 2nd owner, I think the Carfax (which is also clean) shows 3 owners including myself, but the first two were from the same family out west.
Overall, a beautiful, excellent running car, seldom will you find one of these wagons in this original condition.
