1986 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc Z28 Description

1986 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc Z28 21,993 Original Documented Miles

I am offering here today my 1986 Camaro, Iroc Z28 with only 21,993 original miles. Built at the Van Nuys California plant. Purchased new in Georgia, where it has been for all of its life. I am the second owner of this vehicle, and will be happy to share the information of the original owner to whomever ends up purchasing this car. This car has only had 500 miles put on it in the past ten years. Always covered, in a climate controlled garage and meticulously cared for. I purchased this car because quite frankly, I have never seen one so nice that was not new on the showroom floor. I sold my home last month and had to place the car in storage because I do not have a place to store it until I purchase another home. I have decided to sell it, rather than store the vehicle over the next year or so while we try to decide whether to build or buy. I am a longtime Camaro guy and this is by far the nicest third gen I have seen in many, many years. In addition to offering the car on ebay, I will also take to local shows as well as the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge TN next month if I still own it. I have written a very detailed description below, so please allow the high resolution pictures time to load. I also have a couple of videos links I can send if interested, and you will find my phone number listed in the description if you need to see any other pics or have any questions. I encourage you to come see the car or have someone inspect it before bidding.

Exterior and mechanical:

The car still sports the original paint, with only minor touch ups from stone ships, which are all very difficult to even find. The only modifications to this Iroc have been the rear louvers that were offered and installed by the dealer when the car was new, new tires, which have only a couple hundred miles on them due to the original Gatorback tires having dry rot and were frankly, unsafe to drive on. The only other modifications were exhaust tips, window tint, and battery replacement. The car has been maintained by the local Chevrolet dealer, where a new fuel pump and cleaning of the fuel system was performed, as well as new fluids, complete tune up and brake pads. The original rotors were turned by the dealer as well. The cost of this service was to the tune of almost $3,000. I have recently also replaced the hood and hatch struts as they would no longer hold the hood and hatch up safely. All of the weatherstripping is perfect on the car and all are original with the exception of the window belt molding which also had one crack due to dry rot. All of the weatherstripping is very soft and works as it did when new. The air conditioning has also been recently serviced and blows nice and cold. All glass on the car is original and chip and crack free. Every light in this car, including the headlamps and fog lights are factory original, and all still work perfectly. The exhaust is all still original, including factory installed muffler with the exception of the exhaust tips. All of the original 16 inch Iroc wheels are still with the car, and are in good condition. Each of the wheels have a locking lug nut included and the removal key of course will come with the car. All exteriors lenses and plastics look as if they are new.

Interior and Options:

The interior of this car is impeccable. I mean, showroom new, and still has the new car smell. The carpets and original floor mats look absolutely brand new. The seats and door panels are literally like new, and the driver seat has always had a nice thick cover for protection. The dash pad in this car is flawless as well, and just as new. This car came LOADED with factory options, including power steering, power windows, power door locks, power driver seat, power mirrors-including the auto-dimming rear view mirror, overhead console with map light and the original flashlight. Four wheel power disc brakes, with the 3:23 performance gear in the posi rear differential. The car also came factory with the auto hatch release and motorized closing mechanism, which all work just as new. Also included from factory were the upgraded stereo system, tilt wheel, and cruise control. The interior plastics all look brand new and are all there. The car also has rear defroster and dealer installed rear glass louvers made by Chastain Performance.

Engine, Transmission, and engine bay:

The car has the original 5.0 tuned port injected engine and has all of the original emissions equipment provided at the factory. I have not detailed the engine at all, only wiping down with a little soapy water. I have not detailed it to preserve all of the factory markings, tags, labels, etc. which are still present. The engine runs strong and the 700R4 transmission shifts perfectly.

Overview:

This is a very fun car to drive, that has a surprising amount of low end torque. You can really feel it as you accelerate. Take out the t tops and feel the wind in your hair. Trust me, I get thumbs up wherever I drive this car. Personally, I think this car should be kept as a low miles original car, as the prices are certain to rise on the newest generation of collectable Camaros. There are very few Iroc Camaros that remain in this kind of condition, so it is priced accordingly. I have the title, all paperwork, window sticker, dealer service records, original keys, manuals, etc. This car is a great investment NOW, before prices go through the roof over the next few years. It will make a fine edition to any car collectors collection. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this car and I will answer each question honestly, and in a timely manner. My cell phone is 706-264-0375. I am not a dealer, so I work during 8-5 hours so please be patient and if you call or text me I will reply as quickly as possible.

Terms:

As stated, I am not a dealer, so the car is sold as is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Please only bid on this car if you intend to buy it. It costs time and money to run a car on eBay, so please ask questions FIRST! If you need permission from your spouse, please do so BEFORE bidding to buy this car! I have done my very best to accurately describe this vehicle, that being said, I fully encourage you to come and inspect the car before purchasing it, or spend the money to have it inspected by a professional. I require a $1,000 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of purchase, with the balance due within 5 days of auction end. By bidding on this vehicle this is a legal and binding contract to purchase the car, not just inspect it. Please inspect BEFORE bidding! I reserve the right to cancel any bids from buyers who have little to no feedback. That being said, if you have less than 10 feedbacks, or a non paying bid history, please contact me before bidding. I will be happy to work with the shipping company to get the vehicle loaded and on its way. I also reserve the right to end this at any time, as the car is for sale locally as well. All shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer.

Pictures honestly do not do this car justice. When you open the door to that “new car” smell and lay eyes on this beauty, you will want to take it home with you. It’s a truly AMAZING car that will only continue to increase in value!
