1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Description

Does it get any better than a red Camaro convertible? Well, adding the RS package means getting those awesome hideaway headlights, and adding an SS package on top of that sweetens the deal with engine options and other goodies. And the cherry on top is that this is a numbers matching car. So yes, this RS/SS is quite a bit better than your average Camaro convertible.
The factory correct, Matador Red paint is a striking shade of red and looks good from a distance. As you approach the car, you will notice that it has been applied so well during reconditioning, that there are no noticeable flaws. It is gorgeous! The body panels were meticulously adjusted so that the gaps between the fenders, doors, hood, and trunk were tight and consistent. Between those very desirable RS hideaway headlights, there is an SS emblem in the grill as well as on the fenders and the gas cap. That was standard practice on cars ordered with both RS and SS packages. There is a black Bumblebee stripe encircling the nose of the car with Camaro in script on the hood, and 350 denoting the engine on the side. Chrome louvers on the hood appear courtesy of the SS package. The bumpers, wheel well moldings, rocker and door trim as well as window moldings all shine brightly. Rally wheels with polished trim rings finish out the look of this car out very nicely.
Open the door, (or just look inside if the roof is down), and you will find a classy black interior with fine lines of chrome accenting the door panels and dashboard. The speedo and tach are set deep in their pods and are easy to see through the three-spoke SS steering wheel. Ventilation and A/C controls are off to the right. Yes this car has A/C, and it blows nice and cold. The radio is set in a nice wood treatment, and just below it there is a set of four Rally gauges to help you keep track of critical engine functions. In the center console, a horseshoe shifter controls the 3-speed transmission. Front bucket seats have pleated inserts that mirror the pleats in the door panels and the back seats. The black convertible top is manually operated and is easy to pop up or down. The trunk is finished out as nicely as the rest of the car, which is to say, even the trunk is nearly perfect!
Under the hood you will find a neat and clean engine bay with the numbers matching engine nestled inside it. A chrome air topper announces the Turbo Fire 350 cubic inch engine with 295HP. An aluminum radiator ensures that the engine runs cool, and a 4bbl carb feeds the beast. Chrome valve covers, along with a chrome alternator and polished pulleys contrast nicely with the Chevy orange engine paint and add a splash of flash. Long tube headers head back to Flowmaster mufflers then out the back making nice sounds in the process. Everything in the front end has been replaced including the shocks, springs, control arm bushings, ball joints, and disc brake components. It's all like new and it drives that way. The reconditioning of this car took as much care with the undercarriage as it did with the body and interior, so even it is all painted nicely and looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
This is one sweet RS/SS convertible. C'mon down and check it out for yourself. You may decide that the only way this car could get any better, is if it was parked in your garage.
