1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

1951 Chevrolet 3800
With a heavy heart, I am selling my 1951 Chevy 3800. I only have to let her go as I'm moving for work and can't take her with me. It saddens me as I'll likely never find one so original in this condition. It would be a crime to restore this truck.
The truck spent most of its life in the care of a Yellowstone National Park Ranger (See permit stickers) who treasured it. Every Montana winter it spent indoors and during the summer, he laid a steel plate over the wood bed to preserve it.
The only faults to her originality are the ranger had the engine replaced with a beautifully rebuilt one which runs like a watch and starts on the first turn every time. The odometer was reset when the engine was replaced and she now has about 2500 miles since the rebuild. He also added a tow hitch which can be easily removed or use to pull things for parade/advertising use. I replaced the original split rim wheels with modern tubeless ones of the same size for ease of use, a better ride, and to preserve its correct stance, but I still have the original split rims which will be included in the sale.
Other than a small bubble on the driver side front fender (see picture), she has never had ANY rust. I am a diehard Chevy Advanced Design enthusiast and this is the most solid AD I have ever seen. Cab corners, cab floors, etc. are all rock solid and original, no hack job welds to be found. The doors close solid with absolutely no sag, the hood as well. Please see the pictures highlighting the alignment of the hood and doors.
The original wood bed is entirely solid, no soft spots or replacement boards (see picture). When I removed the steel plate after purchasing it, I was shocked by what I found. I had intended to replace the wood, but after seeing its wonderful patina, I had to keep and preserve it.
She's a joy to drive and be seen in. Please look at all pictures carefully as words really can't describe how solid and original this truck is.
She's stored at my father's house and I encourage anyone serious about purchasing her to come view it. His name is Basil, 302-542-6814 or message me to set up a viewing.
