This is a rare truck and a rare opportunity to own one of America's great classic original 4x4s. It is a very nice original truck right off the farm. Family owned and fairly well cared for with only 62,000 miles on it. Iwentout to the farm to pick it up for the family that wanted to restore it, but after a few yearsa decision was made to sell it instead.
I am not an expert on these kinds of trucks, so I am sure I will be corrected here and there and feel free to chime in if you are an expert. But from what I have been told, these 3100 short box NAPCO conversions are quite rare, with only handfuls of them built? most were 3600? being a mid yearbody change this is possibly one of the first of the NAPCO conversions.
It has a in line 6 cyl and 4-speed transmission 235? there is a spare eng in the back of the truck inotsure if it belongs to the truck or? what but it was there when we picked it up? The truck runs and drives but smokes pretty bad? We did have the fuel system reconditioned as well as the brakes and cooling system, with many new parts. New tires, shocks and the suspension gone through and repaired as necessary to make it a safe driver.
The body was in remarkable condition with minimal rust the last two pics are of it the day it came in. We are a restoration shop in Lincoln, Neb. and started the restoration work on the fenders, which we removed, metal worked, media blasted to clean metal then epoxied, finish bodywork and primed as you see in the pictures in gray primer.
Situationschanged and the owner decided to sell the truck rather than continueon with the restoration, So we "patina" painted the fenders, stone guard and running boards to match as seen in the pics I'mpointing to the fake patina, which looks remarkablysimilarto the rest of the original paint then we bolted them back on.
The floors and metal on this truck are in amazing shape for it's age. a little rust in the lower right cab corner and that's about It! the left side you see a hole cut out that was for the power take offwhich you see in the bed of the truck, even the wood floor is in good condition.
Be sure to look the pictures over closely thetruck is also availablefor inspection here in west Lincoln, Nebraska, Please ask any questions you might have, the price is set at $16,000 and we hope for the family it sneaksup a little bit yet, This is a true investment grade truck that really needs to go to a serious restorer, I'll be the first to say it is almost a shame that we did take the fenders off and reworked them, something to be said about being alloriginal, but none the less it is still a great truck and deserves a full restoration back to Original! happy bidding and let's hope for a great outcome!
