1977 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe (Aerocoupe) - Absolutely beautiful Description

Third listing. There is no reserve for this third listing.
1977 Impala Sport Coupewith wonderful original Firethorn paint and interior. Absolutely amazing preservation. (Car is being sold because the seller, at age 80, is too old to drive this car anymore).

The car has a clean vehicle history, no manufacturer recalls, no negative reports, and no accidents. The car is functioning as it should. The mileage is accurate. The exterior is wonderfully clean as is the interior with only the defects as noted below.

This was the first year of the downsized full size Chevrolet; however, the interior dimensions increased from the 1976 full sized models.

Note: reflections in the paint from the street, curb, and grass are not defects. The same for sun reflections on the chrome and the tree reflections in the glass.

Note: This vehicle is not being offered for sale in any other way than EBay at this time and this is the first time this car has been offered for sale in ten years.

Please read and understand all of the rules that EBay has for bidding on their site.

Chevrolet was the Motor Trend "Car of the Year" for 1977 and also was the bestselling car of 1977.

Voted the best full size Chevrolet ever made by the auto journalists that year.

Chevrolet picked the Firethorn color for the color of the car in their promotional brochures for the 1977 Impala Coupe.

This has been an Ohio car all its life. So, how is this preservation possible?

It is a two owner car. The first owner kept the car in warehouse storage for about half of each year. The car was garaged and used very sparingly and probably never in the rain. For the first 32 years he owned the car the total mileage was 75,280 miles or 2352 miles on average per year. It was meticulously maintained.

The second and current owner kept this car as a collectible and put the last 13,562 miles on it in the last ten years. The seller has kept the car garaged for the tens years he owned it.

Again the car was meticulously maintained such that everything works as it should.

Additional photos can be supplied on request.

Some defects:

There is paint loss on the steering column below the ignition switch from the keys (see photo)

There is some paint loss on the passenger front bumper filler from flexing against the bumper.

There are various tiny spots of paint loss (tiny nicks) in the original paint from a size of less than 1/128" to about 1/32".About half are touched up with matching paint and the others are not. These are primarily on the leading edge of the front section above the grill, and at random at other places (but very few outside that front section area).

There is an extremely slow loss of transmission fluid that shows itself on the garage floor as small spots.

There is a small defect in the chrome of the left hand outside rear view mirror (about 1/64" diameter).

There are some wear marks on the plastic of the waist molding of the passenger door and right hand quarter panel.

There are three scratches and a couple of wear spots in the paint on the underside of the trunk lid.

A short I" section of the trunk seal is missing near the latch and the seal has wear defects..

The driver's side (left) structural member in the trunk between the wheel well and the quarter panel has a twist in its lower section (easy to twist back).

There is a slight rub on the hat shelf surface. See photo of rear window.

There is no way seller could ever exaggerate how wonderful this car is.

This vehicle is being sold As Is, Where Is, without any warranty of any kind.

This description may have inadvertent typographical errors or inaccuracies.

There is made here no representation of suitability for any purpose.

The seller disclaims all warranties and conditions with respect to the information provided including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. In no event shall seller be liable for any special, indirect, punitive or consequential damages resulting from and use or performance of or content errors or omissions of information.

Any disputes arising out of or resulting from this sale shall be finally determined by binding arbitration in Dayton, Ohio in accordance with the commercial rules of arbitration of the American Arbitration Association. Buyer and seller hereby agree that Ohio law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Ohio to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgement of and enforce the award of the arbitrator.

At the close of the auction there is required a $200.00 refundable deposit within 24 hours via PayPal. PayPal will not be acceptable for the final payment however.

The signing over of the title, it's notarizing, and the delivery of the car after the final payment is made will be done at the U.S. Bank in Troy, Ohio within one week of the auction close. Final payment must be made in a form that provides instant good funds. If the final payment is not made within the seven days, then the deposit will be forfeited and the car relisted. No claim of ownership of the said vehicle will be recognized before payment is made in full and the title transferred.

The deposit will be refunded if upon inspection of the vehicle at the bank it is decided that the final payment will not be made for any reason. It is strongly recommended that the vehicle be inspected prior to the auction close to avoid any possible misunderstandings or misrepresentations. It will be available for inspection in Troy, Ohio during the 10 days of the auction and at the bank just before final payment is made.

All costs of title transfer, registration, and inspection will be at the buyer's expense. Seller will not be liable for this vehicle not passing a particular state's inspection.

Needless to say, once the car is inspected, final payment and the title transfer made, the seller will not be responsible for any problems found with said vehicle in consideration of the age of this vehicle (almost 42 years old at the maximum). We have done our best at full disclosure of everything we know about this vehicle that was kept as a collectible for many years but certainly cannot be expected to predict what may manifest itself if it is put into regular daily service after so many years of very little use. This fact is fully recognized by those involved in collecting and using vintage automobiles.

As a private individual the seller cannot arrange any transportation for the car other than to have it available for pickup at a prearranged time after all payments and paperwork is completed.

For the same reason the seller does not offer financing.

In the next eight to ten years this car will appreciate probably 100% as is the case for most collector cars in this condition that reach 50 years old and more.
