1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Hardtop Description

Multiple award-winning 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe. Tropical Turquoise/India Ivory, Turquoise interior, correct 265ci V8, factory power pack w/dual exhaust, front sway control, power brakes, rare wire wheel covers, backup lamps, outside rear-view mirror. Judged 989/1000 in October 2007. Miles shown, (8,107), are since restoration. Thanks to the lower weight of the recently introduced small-block V-8 and a high power-to-weight ratio, the V-8 powered 1956 Chevrolet models were rightly advertised as the "Hot Ones." This Bel Air features; 4bbl, Dual Exhaust, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Wire Wheel Covers, Front Sway Control, Backup Lamps, Fender Stone Guards, Door Handle Shields, Locking Gas Cap, Outside Rear View Mirror, Rocker Side Moldings, Exhaust Extensions, Parking Brake Signal, Clock, Deluxe Pushbutton Radio, and Rubber Mats. While certain Chevrolet enthusiasts prefer the subtlety of the 1955 Chevrolet and others favor the more flamboyant 1957 models, many continue to appreciate the 1956 line as the perfect balance between the two extremes. Subtle changes to the Chevy's body design for 1956 gave it a remarkably new and lighter appearance, The 1956 Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end. Distinctive two-tone bodyside treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the "speedline" restyling. Single housings incorporated the taillight, stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the gas filler - an idea popularized on Cadillacs.
