Excellent Original Condition with only 9k Actual Miles!
1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Description
This is an original 100% stock IROC-Zwith 9297 actualdocumentedmiles. As mentioned above in this ad the car has only been adult owned and driven.
The original owners bought this car at Tom Naquin Chevrolet in Elkhart, IN on 2/29/88, and traded the car in with 5611 miles the following September. The second owners a wonderful middle age couple bought the car at Village Chevrolet in Niles, MI on 9/26/88 to drive only on nice days for fun. They enjoyed owning & driving the carinto their mid-seventiesonly 3643 miles over 25 years until I purchased the car from them in September of 2013 as an investment with 9254 miles on the odometer. Since then the car has been part of my CorvetteCamaro collection stored and maintained in my climate controlled building. You can see the documentation I have on both of these owners and history of the car in the pictures I have posted. I do not have the original window sticker or bill of sale, but an original dealer invoice is available through GM Media archives, and with that a quality duplicate window sticker can be made.
The exterior paint color is Dark Red Metallic Code # 74, and the interior color is Light Brown Code # 66C for the Custom Cloth option. This car is highly optioned including the more desirable Tuned Port InjectionLB9 305ci (5L)engine and G80 limited slip positraction rear axle. See the picture posted of the Service Identification Label that shows all of the codes for the many convenience and luxury factory options on this car in the FZA2 Group 2 Options package that was $1846.00, plus the other extra cost sport options on this car. Also pictured is a copy of the original Chevrolet Dealer showroom brochure that comes with the file I have for the car showingthe same colorson thecover and center foldout pictures as this car was built.
The car is all original down to the factory equippedoptional & original 16" IROC-Z wheels andGoodYear Eagle "Gatorback" VR50R16 tires. Only the battery, hood and rear deck shocks, and filters were changed as service replacement items. A Clean Carfax Report and inspection was done when I bought the car for my collection. The condition is far beyond what is commonly used to describe a caras "survivor" condition . This car is in nearly showroom new condition after 30 years, a 9-9.5 on a scale of 10, with only a few very small exterior scratches in the clear coat, and a few minor signs of aging in the interior. The photos are all recent, taken prior to this listing at my home, inside and outside at the building where I keep the cars. The outdoor pictures are more natural of the exterior and interior colors, whereas the indoor pictures are under fluorescent lighting in my shop. I attempted to post a good cross section of photos showing the exterior, interior, wheels and tires (free from curb rash), underside, engine compartment, and documentation. Notice the original labels on the door jambs, and under the hood (there are a few others I didn't have room for in the picture limit with this ad).
I am not a dealer, just a car guy, and I have recently sold a few other cars out of my collection to some very happy new owners. The car comes with a clear title, that shows the mileage as actual at 9254 miles, no surprises!
My reason for selling the car is that I am downsizing my collection as I move toward retirement, and spending more time in South Florida. The reserve is set below the current market value for a IROC with this low of miles and quality. I will let the auction run the 7 days and sell the car to the high bidder if the reserve is met.If you want an IROC that is near mint, check out the 1987 Convertible I also have listed on ebay.I will answer all questions honestly and to the best of my ability, and refund the deposit if the buyer comes to inspect the car promptly after the auction ends and decides not to complete the deal. Good luck to all bidders!
