Picture yourself in this 1962 Chevrolet Impala convertible. Top down, cruising in to the weekend show, or just enjoying a spin around town. This is a fun car, and is sure to bring smiles both to you behind the wheel, as well as anyone who sees you there enjoying yourself. This car is in very good condition, and benefits from a long list of improvements in the details, yet has not been restored to the point you'll feel nervous while driving. This car is meant to be driven and enjoyed.
The roman red finish and white vinyl convertible top are in good condition and are a striking classic combination. Chevrolet's body designs grew more and more subtle during the early 60s, and the Impala's bright trim package added a luxurious touch, easy to recognize and appreciate in this good-looking car. Chevrolet followed the same pattern in the interiors, where they installed their best materials and equipment. The red interior in this 62 Impala has just been enhanced with new door and quarter panel trim to complement the original seat upholstery. Many chrome interior elements have been freshened as well, including door handles, window cranks, and more.
Under the hood lives a venerable 327 cubic inch V8. Some folks get all fussy about the 409, which is fine, but it's such a heavy motor, and thirsty! The 327 has plenty of pep, coming from the factory in '62 with 250 to 300+ horsepower, and readily modifiable to produce 375 and more. This engine leaves room under the hood to work, and something about the space and lack of clutter feels familiar, comfortable-the way it used to be, the way it ought to be.
Power is transferred through a three speed automatic transmission to BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on 15" Chevy rally wheels. Power steering and power brakes with front discs reflects the Impala's top tier status, and make your driving experience that much nicer.
