1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 4 Speed
1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport 4 Speed Description
This 1987 Monte Carlo SS was converted to a Muncie 4 speed manual using a Lakewood Bell housing and 1981 Malibu G Body clutch linkage. A High Performance steel flywheel, 11 inch clutch and a Hurst shifter were used as well. The engine is a mild 383 stroker Vortec small block making 425 horsepower and plenty of torque. A 750 CFM Edelrock carburetor is complemented by a set of Hooker Super Comp headers, a 2 1/2 " exhaust and Flowmasters . She sounds deep and powerful, but won't disturb the neighbors.
The Monte Carlo is truly a "luxury ride" with new interior including new seats, headliner, carpet and custom console for the Hurst shifter. The air conditioner blows cold, the stereo plays loud, while the power steering and brakes make it a joy to drive.
The paint looks great from 10 feet away, but could use a buffing and waxing. Feel free to ask any questions about the Monte Carlo or to arrange for an inspection and test drive. I believe you will be impressed with this comfortable, enjoyable, and quick beauty. The 4 speed brings the joy back to driving a powerful Chevy.
