427 Engine is period correct Chevrolet big block with the casting # 3916321. Casting # 3916321 decodes to either a late 1967 Vette motor or a '68 Passenger car/Vette. This motor will get it! It's a bit of a beast. It's paired with a 4 speed manual transmission, and 12 bolt posi rear. Unsure of the rear, but it feels like 4.11 or Higher. There's also some Hotchkis performance components in the suspension. The Malibu was built to be a true street machine!
Headlights, turn signals, horn, brake lights, tachometer, water temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and gas gauge all work. Get in and drive!
The frame, floors, trunk lid, fenders, quarter panels, rockers, doors, and roof are all pretty solid in our opinion. Again, please look at all pictures, ask for more, and/or come and see this '68 Malibu 427 to form your own opinion. There's imperfections all over the paint. This '68 has to be painted. The paint has got some chips here and there too, but its a great driver. We don't really do show queens. We believe more in drivers. Get in and get it, and this beast surely can!
Cowl tag shows it to be an original paint code G: Ash Gold. Current color is more of a Grotto Blue for '68. Please look at the pics of entire body, and of each body panel. You'll see that it looks somewhat ok from a little bit away. As you come up on it you'll see that she needs a paint job.
