You are bidding on a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Convertible. This is the first year Chevrolet offered a factory convertible Camaro since the 1969 model year and this one is a rare 20th Anniversary car. This car is one of only 744 Camaro convertibles produced for 1987 and has every single option Chevrolet offered including:
IROC-Z Option Package 3 (highest available package)
305 V8 TPI engine (most powerful available engine)
5-Speed Manual Transmission (very rare)
Black Exterior
Red Leather Interior with Split Folding Rear Seats (very rare)
Limited Slip Differential with Performance Axle Ratio
Four Wheel Disc Brakes (very rare)
Engine Oil Cooler
ETR Premium AM/FM Stereo with Cassette and Equalizer
The car has a low 13.9K original miles and a clean Carfax report with no accidents or damage ever. I have owned the car for more than 5 years and have only driven it to car shows and on the occasional Sunday drive to keep everything moving and working as it should.
This car is bone stock and in very close to brand new condition inside and out. It has always been garaged and covered. The paint has a deep, lustrous shine. The tires are like new Kumho's and the factory brakes are all in good condition. The leather, dash, carpets and the rest of the interior appear as new. Everything works as it should and the car runs and drives as close to new as is possible. Even the undercarriage of this car also appears almost brand new. This is a beautiful car in exceptional condition.
Additional Factory options include:
Power Steering
Power Rear Hatch
Sport Suspension
Aluminum 16” IROC Wheels
Air Conditioning
Tilt Steering Wheel
Tinted Glass
Front and Rear Floor Mats (original mats still present and in great condition)
Intermittent Wipers
Power Locks, Windows and Mirrors
Power Driver's Seat
Body Side Mouldings
Cruise Control
Foglights
I have the complete set of owner's manuals and both sets of original keys. I have full documentation from GM on this car. And I have a folder full of service records on the vehicle (including an odometer disclosure statement when it was sold from the Volo Auto Museum Collection in 1998 with 9227 miles on it!)
Extras include:
Original Goodyear Gatorback Tires (hard as a rock and replaced because they are unsafe)
Original Alternator (only engine component ever replaced on car)
Flowmaster Exhaust (sounds nice)
Airchamber Storage Cell manufactured by Airflow Systems Switzerland (cost $1000+)
Original Sticker Price was $23K in 1987 (I have a copy)
You will never find another first year IROC-Z convertible in this condition, with 5-speed, with TPI, with all these options, in these colors, and with these low miles again. This is a collector's dream!
