This 1988 Chevy Silverado has a 454-fuel injected engine with an auto trans, I think 4:10 ratio. Has 5th wheel hitch in it, I was not going to include the gooseneck hitch unless you really need it. This truck has ZERO rust on it on the body. It has spent most of its life down south and stored inside. I have the original warranty paper work and manuals and the window sticker. There are tons of service records I think it was well taken care of. The old guy kept lots of spare parts like belts etc. behind the seat for traveling. I purchased this truck from a guy in Nashville TN this was his uncles truck. He bought it new (his uncle) and traveled to Florida etc. with it when they retired. His uncle passed and it was willed to him. The truck had been sitting in the barn for several years as the estate was settled. He (the nephew) used it for a bit (a year?) and decided it was too big of a truck for what he needed. I had saw it listed on craigslist and rented a car one way and drove down to get it and drove it back from Nashville. It is believed the miles are accurate. The truck needs a couple things, the headliner has a tear and sags and needs replaced. It has a check engine light that comes on and I have taken it to 3 repair shops Including a Chevy dealer, and nobody has figured out what it is. It resets every time you turn the truck off and leaves no code sometimes doesn’t come on for a while, I have had no running issues with the truck. The passenger front window needs help going up and down and the ac only holds a charge for a couple of months. Tailgate handle is stuck and dash has 3 cracks all minimal items. I have had our local repair shop do all the maintenance on it. They have replaced the water pump, thermostat, power steering pump, starter, repaired the coolant sensor terminal, new power steering line, front shocks. Basically, I just told them anything it needs mechanical take care of it I didn’t want to get stranded out west or on any of our trips. Several AC Delco oil filters will come with it, we keep the oil changed frequently so buy filters by the case. Exhaust is all good, tires are in great shape. The interior is in great shape, seats and carpet door panels etc. The inside of the bed is also in great shape and it had a topper on it when they were not hauling their camper.
The truck runs and drives good, dependable as a daily driver and traveling on several thousand-mile trips, we have driven it to Pennsylvania a few times, South Dakota and Colorado all over up north trial riding with the horses. We had bought this truck because we purchased a gooseneck living quarters horse trailer and needed a bigger truck to tow it. It has been a great truck but we need something that is 4wd for out in the mountains we got stuck last month and took 24 hrs. before someone came along to help us. Along with our vacations and a daily driver (not in the salt) we have put about 20,000?? miles on it since we have owned it.
