1954 Chevrolet Other Pickups 1947 1948 1949 1950 1951 1952 1953 1954 Description

I found this truck on Orca's Island off the coast of WA state. I purchased it in 2017 with the intent of restoring it but soon realized I do not have the time to do it. Truck starts up no problem, fun to drive but needs work. It has rust/rot in the typical spots and replacement panels are available thru numerous outlets. I have done nothing to this truck except keep it protected from the elements. Below is the work done prior to my purchase. This is info taken from an email from the previous owner.

• New points/rotor/spark plugs/ plug wires and coil/distributor cap.

• Gas tank cleaned

* in line fuel filter installed

The fuel pump and carburetor look fairly new and it's clear they were replaced at some point recently.

• Rear gas shocks were replaced

• Water pump was replaced

* fan belt

* Hoses to heater

* Thermostat

Went through all the brakes and they are operational with good amount on pads (all drum) replaced one hard line that was rusted and leaking. Master cylinder should be replaced but it is not leaking and hold pressure.

* Took off old rotten flat bed and rebuilt bed with fir milled on Orca's Island (treated with linseed oil) VERY COOL!!

-speedometer was missing needle found an original on eBay and installed so all gauges on the dash are working although they don't look pretty (not sure if the milage is accurate)

-when the bed was off I opened up the differential housing and checked the gears and changed the gear oil.

-flushed the radiator

-Changed the oil replaced the canister filter

-replaced the generator

-new headlights wired and working.

-new brake lights wired and working

-took off the valve cover and cleaned/painted/ and got a new gasket and oil cap.

-painted the hubs with POR15 most of the frame from the cab back some of the worst rust on the body (roof and back) primed those areas.

Turn signals do not work. Wipers do not work. No seat belts.

The glass in both doors needs replacing and I have a vent window purchased but not yet installed.

I would include along with a 6volt radio some trim pieces and a bunch of other small goodies.

Also purchased a new side view mirror-not installed but included.
