1948 Chevrolet fleetline aerosedan aerosedan coupe Description

1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan Fastback Coupe
This is a solid old car. The original owner had the car garaged for years then moved it outside when some kids jumped on the roof. I was told it ran when it was parked. The car is original. I believe the drivetrain is original 216 six cylinder with a three on the tree. Clear title original. Very little rust. It's a good one to rat, kustomize, or restore to original.
MECHANICAL
The car has what looks to be the original 216 inline six cylinder. I can check the numbers for you if you care. Three speed manual on the column. The car was parked, years ago. The oil looks fine. the engine turns over normally with no weird noises. It will need the full tuneup I'm sure and all fluids. The tires are bad and the brakes don't work. The usual deal. I think you could get it running with a little work but I can't tell you for sure how it's going to run. I'm sure you could jimmy rig it to run on the current wiring, but it is the old style and the insulation is coming off in multiple spots. It will need rewired. A modern wiring kit is cheap and easy to install.
BODY
The body is in nice, solid condition for a project. Or use it as a drive, rat rod, rat kustom, or? The car has very little rust and is complete for the most part. There are several extra parts that go with it but I think a trim piece or two is missing. Thecar has very little rust/rot The only exterior rust is in each front fender, low in the rear. the left fender looks terrible same for the rear fender and will need to be replacedalong with the trim. There is no other exterior rust. The trunk floor appears to be amazingly solid. Look at the pics of the rearinterior quarter panels, super solid. The roof had some kids jump on it, The trunklid, hood, doors, frame, rear fenders, roof, cowl, firewall, appear to bein remarkable condition. Original paint. From what I know about the car, it's all original. It came with the oil bath air cleaner too. Doors open and close. Trunk and hood do too. The car needs new hood latches.

INTERIOR
The interior is all original. It needs restored but the "hard" parts are all in it and not screwed up. It will need upholstery. Pictures tell the story i think. I am happy to answer questions though. IOVERALL
The fastback chevy's from this era are not easy to find in this condition. Most of the ones I have found are complete basket cases, or they have already been restored or customized. This car is in the stage where you can go any direction. Fix and drive as-is, lower with rims for a budget sled, drag car, high end Kustom or rat, woody clone, or? Thanks for looking.
