1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Description

The best of both worlds. A first year Camaro that is a real deal RS with the super clean look of those hideaway headlights, upgraded with the ground pounding thunder of a 454 big block giving it some SS adrenaline. This car will turn some heads when people hear the rumble, and they will do a double take when they see its menacing good looks. It is a real treat when a black car is well prepared... so that the body panels are super straight and the panel gaps are tight and consistent. That way, when the glossy black paint does what it does best by reflecting images like a mirror, the effect, whether it is rolling down the boulevard or standing still, is amazing. Trim it out with tasteful chrome accents, and to steal a line from ZZ Top, you have one sharp dressed man. The RS grill with the correct, electrically operated hideaway headlights has an SS badge in the center underlined by a thin chrome bumper. The cowl induction hood looks awesome without rally stripes disturbing the lines. Polished windshield trim, wheel well moldings and rocker trim add their splash of flash. Camaro and racing flag badges on the front fenders along with an SS gas cap are the only other emblems on the car, and a rear spoiler, simple taillights, and another simple bumper complete the super clean look of this car. Open the door and you will find this car's simple good looks continue on the inside too. Also presented in black, the door panel is stitched in sections with a comfortable armrest and polished door handle and window crank. A 3-spoke steering wheel has brushed metal arms with a Camaro center. The dash is pleasantly simple and clean without any chrome trimming out the factory gauges. The center of the dash does have some chrome trim and contains the ventilation controls along with black auxiliary gauges for water temp, voltage and oil pressure. Black bucket seats have pleated center sections trimmed in smooth vinyl. Have a seat, grab the steering wheel, and the white Hurst shifter mounted on a chrome stalk extending from the center console falls easily to hand. It is up to you to use it with discretion as you cruise the boulevard, or to use it deliberately to release the beast within. That beast is 454 cubic inch powerhouse nestled down in a very clean engine bay. It is topped by a chrome air filter housing boasting of its SS adrenalin with a 396 Turbo Jet sticker. A Proform 4-barrel carburetor handles the mixing duties and long tube headers get the spent gases out through Flowmaster mufflers which give the car an awesome sound. Chrome valve covers dress up the engine a bit and the Chevy Orange of the block and heads is a perfect complement to the 396 sticker on the air topper. Power flows back through a 4-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels mounted on leaf springs with traction bars to help control wheel hop and put the power on the ground effectively. Power steering and front disc brakes enable you to maneuver the car to the starting line and reel it back it after you cut it loose. The rubber meets the road through 235/60R15 tires in the back and 205/60R15s in the front mounted on Rally wheels with trim rings and center caps. The best of both worlds. Street and strip. An awesome looking boulevard cruiser and show car, as well as a ground pounding quarter mile bruiser. Is this the car that belongs in your garage? Come on down, check it out and see what you think.
