Down Down Down. Lower it down, strip it down, and take it downtown. This C10 has been smoothed out and dressed up. It's fun to drive, fun to show off, and functional too. Just make sure whatever you haul in the bed is soft so you don't scratch it. This project started with the desire to remove those silly side marker reflectors Chevy decided to plaster all over the fenders when they updated the '67 model, and... well, things got a bit carried away from there. The smooth lines that Chevy blessed this C10 with were taken to the next level then coated in a Burnished Gold with White accenting the front, back and top. The grill is super clean looking in white with polished metal trim outlining the openings and the headlights and a red Chevy Bowtie in the center is the only badge on the truck. It's underlined by a shiny chrome bumper and along with the back bumper is the only other chrome on this ride. The Chevrolet which is embossed in the tailgate was painted white very meticulously so as to keep the lettering looking crisp and clean. The gas cap in the bed was shaved and a Summit Racing bed protector placed in there to keep it looking good. Open the door and you will find a great looking interior that is built for comfortable cruising. The door panel sets the tone of the interior in brown faux leather that looks like it was worked by an old school saddle maker and then trimmed out in delicate chrome piping. The worked leather look carries over to the comfortable bench seat too and there is a three spoke steering wheel which is wrapped in real leather and feels good in your hands. Omega Kustom white face gauges are a perfect complement to the white accents on the outside of the truck and look good while keeping track of critical engine functions as well as your speed and engine RPMs. Ventilation controls, including those for the R134 air conditioning system are set where the ash tray used to be. The only thing you may want to add to this interior is whatever sound system that you decide to install. It's a blank audio slate just waiting for your touch. Now pop the hood and take a peek. There you will find a super slick engine bay with a modern Vortec V8 nestled down inside it. There is a gloss black radiator support as well as new inner fender liners with the A/C lines run behind them to show 'em off. Power runs back through a 4-speed automatic with overdrive and the engine and transmission play nicely together because there is a full harness with OBD2 hook up under the dash. That perfect rake and the hunkered down look of this ride comes compliments of some nice new parts. Up front, drop spindles along with new springs, shocks and a beefy sway bar keeps the front end planted whether its sitting still or cruising a back road. The back gets new trailing arms, springs, shocks and a sway bar too to keep the handling balanced and flat. Power 4-wheel disc brakes let you haul this ride back down from speed and the fender wells are filled up with 275/55R20s in the back and 255/55R18s in the front. This truck is fun to drive down a back road, or downtown to show it off. Come on down and check it out. You may decide it would be fun to drive home too.
